Please let me be overleveled

One thing I liked in the Portal was that for the first time Destiny had a difficulty option. Sometimes you don't wanna grind like crazy, you just want to chill playing a strike or an exotic mission in solo without too much effort. Since power deltas were introduced, for some reason the possibility of being overleveled was taken away. I genuinely don't care if it gives me little to no rewards, but I don't see why we can't choose to play an overleveled activity once we cross a certain power treshold, please give this back to casual players

Elitist and tryhards: No. Bungie: Good enough for us! Funny, looking at some of these "skilled" folks weekly contributed playtime...they cannot even score in the top half of the pve or pvp played, have the most deaths, cannot finish a MM fireteam ops with randos....but then complain how us folks just suck (excuse me, unskilled) and shouldn't play said mode. No offense, some of you elitist may wanna hide your playtime. Sport the vaulted titles and trophies and flex. Its all soft vaulted anyhow. And it seems no one really cares!

We've never technically been over leveled in the game/franchise since the beginning. How the game worked in d1 and continues to work: 1. We work up to the level of the content. Whether it's an enemy, mission, etc. 2. Once we reach and/or surpass that level, the game makes the content equal to us. We just feel op cause of the weapons and abilities. It's why you would see people commenting about needing multiple shots for a red bar or complaining about being 1 shot despite being whatever level higher. Bungie has stated this. The reason they started using deltas is cause the community stated that was boring and wanted more challenge. That's why in activities they make sure we are whatever below. Even with that, cause of our abilities and weapons, we easily make up that difference. It takes them spamming negative mods and enemies spamming shots/abilities to make it challenging.

  • I thought it was more fun being just slightly over leveled.

  • Technically you still can. All locations but Neomuna you run around practically invincible and can slay everything. On Kepler you can even adjust the level. It's just that you can't do it in missions, strikes etc.. Question is how much more development time Bungie required to introduce such an option. Given the existence of the portal I want them rather bringing more strikes, gambit and alike to the portal. Imho.

    • I really don't understand why Delta's weren't just a selectable option that dramatically increased score with the latest changes as allowing for full customizablity would go well for most people plus it doesn't invalidate leveling. Like you can test yourself in -10 to -50 it you really felt like doing so to give you a "contest" experience in everything or not at all to push yourself to your limits but bungie is dumb.

      • Yes, I want to look ar a dreg and have their ancestors feel it. Let us play as the God killers we are, let us over power and give us mods that give us our super every 20 seconds or something. Let us have fun. This idea that the higher we get the weaker we are is stupid. I have killed gods and now im getting one shot by dregs. Remove the scoring system and give us drops for completion and let us use ny mods we want good or bad. That's how we play our way.

        • As I've been saying for ages, there's no reason to have a level system if we don't benefit from it. Our reward for leveling up is being able to nerf ourselves more to get gear our level at lower reward tiers, but probably every activity we do, we're finishing at least 1 tier higher anyway, so that is redundant by default. If there really should be power deltas, it should be a power reduction instead of a cap, the reduction scaling with your equipped level. If I'm 550, Ultimate should only nerf me by 30. If they're still worried about the game being too easy, there's a simple solution: raise enemy levels. If we shouldn't benefit from leveling up, they should have no say in how easily we get the best loot. Whether that's letting us focus/ attune any weapon we want or letting us increase our chances of a specific roll on them. It's only fair, and therefore good for the game considering how low players are and how terrible/ buggy basically every event has been since after Solstice with no compensation to the players.

          • Yup, if you can no longer be over levelled (more powerful) than the bad guys (which we’ve been doing for over a decade) then what’s the point of levelling at all?

I promise you'll feel over-leveled, especially if you've been playing at anything harder than Normal difficulty. Give it a try if you don't believe me. There's also Quickplay, which I think is at or near Normal difficulty, and again you'll get the little or no rewards. I know -10 is not being literally over-leveled, but I also promise that you'll feel like you're curbstomping anything that comes near you.
