For me it's unplayable. Everyone seems to be beyond a pro in performance. Sliding crazy around corners with headshot accuracy. Jumping in the air making funny turn around to have you 20 feet in the air with headshot precision accuracy. People clearly seeing you through walls. It's just garbage with no anti cheat in site. I'm not a great PvP player nor am I horrible but PvP especially red rumble seems to be plagued with blatant cheaters. I refuse to believe that with a population so low that only the best of the best PvP players have stuck around through D2's Great Depression instead of playing better games with better PvP populations.

6 RepliesI mean to be blunt and honest, and no disrespect, you’re a below average player. Overall KD is .98 and trials KD is .63 KD. It’s not full of cheaters but there are some. You just need to get better at the game or watch streamers that play PvP to get insight on little things they do but PvP in this game is going down the drain so who cares anymore.

1 ReplyEdited by Motorhead England: 11/7/2025 10:37:45 PMThere are still deluded people who do not believe cheats operate in PvP. How do they explain the facts that some cheats have been recorded using giant and tiny guardians, and also playing as matterspark? Perma-ban every cheat and PvP will become healthy once again.

4 RepliesDestiny PvP Isn’t Dying — It’s Just Evolved Beyond New Players” Sorry to say it, but you are on Xbox, the probability of people outright cheating is actually really low. Sure, there’s the occasional Cronus or XIM user, but that’s a small minority. The bigger issue isn’t cheating — it’s the combination of low player population, SBMM (skill-based matchmaking), and the age of the game. Destiny’s PvP has been around for so long that almost everyone still playing it consistently is basically a veteran. Over the years, players have mastered every core mechanic — slide-shooting, ability combos, lane control, peeking, and even how to perfectly time ability and weapon swaps. On top of that, most serious players run extremely high sensitivity settings (14–18), which makes their movement feel near-inhuman if you’re not used to that pace. Because the player population is smaller now, SBMM has fewer players to pull from. The result? Every lobby ends up stacked with experienced players — whether you’ve got a 0.8 KD or a 2.5 KD, you’re probably getting matched against the same group of high-skill regulars. It’s not that everyone’s cheating — it’s that everyone left has mastered the art of Destiny PvP. Bungie hasn’t helped, either. There’s been no real onboarding process or protected space for new or returning players, and Quickplay isn’t actually “casual” anymore. Their engagement model focuses on keeping existing players grinding rather than developing the PvP ecosystem. So if you’re new or just not playing daily, PvP can feel brutal — like getting thrown into a tournament every match. In short: Destiny PvP isn’t full of cheaters — it’s full of survivors. The ones still around have adapted to every meta, learned every map angle, and play with a level of precision that looks unreal. It’s less about cheating and more about the natural evolution of a community that’s been sharpening its skills for nearly a decade.

You can’t name the cheaters say what device they’re using say what game mode has the largest amount of cheaters or share any information on the subject or u get banned for a month (it’s happened to me repeatedly) and every time they say just report the cheaters in game and they’ll handle it from there which they don’t because Iv seen cheaters from early last year still blatantly cheating with no consequences

1 ReplyYou know you can also use 3rd party devices if you're struggling, it's not against ToS.

2 RepliesI played one game of red rumble and noped out. I can't understand someone 3 tapping me consistently while I'm shooting them in the face with with auto (although there is a huge amount of d-sync going on as well). I used to love farming pvp rolls in pve.. now I don't touch the mode.

Bungie should ban all cheaters and make it easier for new players to get started in PVP. Would be an excellent way to attract new customers, because Destiny PVP is quite good once you have a decent loadout
-
Even worse now cause you play against the same people now due to low numbers . There is so much weird crap happening now it’s past “ oh it’s connection problems . I at bed this dude doing 360’s , head shots every time and moving around like a ninja on crack ! Fancy cheating in a dead -blam!- game that doesn’t require much skill 🙄😂

5 RepliesI don't understand how people are complaining like this... I'm playing Trials currently and I don't feel as it's a cheating issue that I have, more so a skill issue. What mode are you playing that you see this in? Do you have any clips to share?

1 ReplyIf you need a friend i'd be glad to help in pvp. I need to practice but i usually am 1+ kd with a team so i shouldn't be a liability. My issue is i suck on my own at times. I need some help. When i have a team. Even if it's 2-3 people i am much better.

Cheat all they want, I guess. I am still able to get my god roll weaponry from trails and crucible so my care factor is zero now...not like Bungie cares. Even the pvp sweats don't complain... I'm a horrible sub 1.0 pvp player too. Welcome to tha club.

I like this game and I like playing PVP.... but it just feels horrible to play 10 games and only win 1 when you are put against cheaters and lousy blueberries. Moreover, the one win is where you are put against a lousy team. I just wish games were balanced so that you feel like you are actually being challenged not tortured or being handed wins.

Edited by DooWork96: 11/7/2025 12:27:15 AMTo start, Pete probably fired the security team awhile ago. That classic car collection didn’t pay for itself you know? Currently, Destiny 2 has the lowest player population it has had in its lifetime. Bungie hasn’t ever been strict on cheaters, let alone hardware cheating for us console players. They need all the player population numbers they can get. Lastly, because the player population is so low and Bungie forced casual playlists into SBMM, connection stability suffers. Did the bullet register or is it just lag on one end? Also, their server stability already sucks and now with the lower player count, SBMM just got worse. As usual, I blame Pete parsons entirely and I’m glad he got sunset. 🙃

Sometimes you face some small streamers with TTV in their name. You check out their stream and you see them blatantly cheating too 😭
-
1 ReplyYeah, it's just not good at all... Quick play/control is sweaty asf and you have players running around glowing red and taking no damage... PVP is done unless Bungie has some secret fix under their sleeves...
-
No man! Those are Destiny's Top Tier Players. Just git gud.

1 ReplyEdited by Obelix: 11/6/2025 11:32:55 PMI like PvP, I had time where that’s the only thing I played in the game for weeks. But realistically I don’t think that it is, nor should be, the priority to fix for Bungie at the moment. The cheating is completely out of hands, and don’t you dare quitting on a cheater in comp because you’ll get suspended. But I don’t get my hope too high. Maybe we will benefit from Marathon tech eventually on cheat detection.

Just another reason I don't play PvP. Not every game needs to be friggin Fortnite.
