Ultimate Conquests: Time to Rebalance the Difficulty

Hey Bungie Team and fellow Guardians, I wanted to share some honest feedback regarding the Ultimate Conquests. Over the past week, my fireteam and I have attempted them around 20 times, and despite being well-prepared, with optimized builds, proper communication, and experience from previous high-end content, we’ve repeatedly failed due to how punishing certain mechanics and mods currently are. It’s not that we’re looking for easy wins; challenging content is what keeps Destiny exciting. However, the current tuning feels overly harsh, especially when every small mistake instantly wipes a coordinated team. It creates more frustration than satisfaction and discourages players from even attempting these activities after multiple failures. We’d really appreciate if the difficulty scaling or specific modifier effects could be reviewed and slightly adjusted, not removed, but balanced in a way that rewards skill and strategy rather than punishing every minor slip-up. Thanks for reading, and I hope Bungie takes this feedback into account. We love the challenge, we just want it to feel fair, not brutal.     I think its just the 2 modifiers on Hypernet that make it not very enjoyable to do. Slow and Small just reducing your damage output on a -50 activity is just kind of punishing with no upside, the only "positive" modifier is volatile shields. Though what really gets me is Match Game, it limits what kind of loadout you can use and if you don't play particular content you won't be able to crack void shields easily because of Avante Garde limiting your weapon options. I think the minimum is that Avante Garde or Match Game should be removed, everything else is fine tbh.

  • Taking away our ammo, healing, and having mods which literally nerf our damage is not difficulty. Hope they’ll understand this.

  • Sorry, but if youre failing Hypernet that many times, you need to do the following things. - Reassess your builds - Understand how to get through this Conquest and what to prioritize. I have completed Hypernet 11x running it for fun and helping. You cannot run it like some old GM. You can't waste time. - Skip the beginning upper platform adds - Next area JUST take out turrets and at least 2 minotaurs. Grab the craniums and go. - Only use craniums on quickly taking out turrets and the rest for Tormentor - Next area skip it all if you can, otherwise kill the first 3 adds and skip. - At the ogres, dont touch the Overloads - Champions are an obstacle in this not something to waste time on if you dont need to. - Boss - have 2 craniums for each round and this is honestly the easiest part of the strike. And make sure you have solar and void covered for the shields and you pop the shields early if thats your job. Hypernet does NOT need a difficulty drop, at all. Avalon? Good luck lol.     • Waaaaaaay too many asinine and unneeded modifiers. Avalon is arguably the hardest mission/strike they have ever made already.

      • IMO, its not that difficult, the only issue with it is the buildcrafting options being so limited. If featured exotics wasnt a thing more players would have cleared it already.

        • Difficulty is fine. Practice and patience. That’s my advice. Remember conquests are made for masochists. Hypernet was actually an LFG nightmare since people can’t survive, dont do skips and most importantly waste all craniums in the boss room. Either get a great team and communicate or try it solo.

        • I've only recently begun cleaning up the last few GMs I have left to do. I just have Savathun's Spire left to do. The more I complete, the more I dread the Ultimate Conquest. Between the awful modifiers and the -50 Power Delta, that doesn't sound enjoyable at all.

        • When i saw -50 plus the modifier that makes you do leas damage, i chose not to bother. That sort of difficulty may be fun for some people, but not for me. Having to flawless them also sealed the deal.

          • No; they're fine. 90% of the game can be walked through in blue armor and weapons. Game is already dying from over casualization.

                  Edited for context. For Hypernet, you need to speedrun it. Having a skimmer, or being a flawless expert sparrow flyer, is imo mandatory to skip 75 or 100% the racetrack part. Dual craniums are vital and you can have one person juggle them while the other two clear the ads so the tormentor spawns. The path up to the ogres, I like to use the cranium to eliminate the 4 taken ball spawners (5 dmg ticks?). Having a void and arc wep available for the centurions and acolytes is recommended. Bring at least 1 full cranium to use on the boss and always kill the 4 minotaurs to get more. For the Avalon conquest, at -50, anything <545 is dead in 2-3 hits. [b]Power sharing is off for all conquests.[/b] I found the titan only strat is bs since almost everyone is doing consecration. That's counterintuitive since you're all gonna be running wormgods. Build strategy is key, can make this one somewhat easier than hypernet due to the longer time limit if planned correctly. Felwinter prism warlock, conscrate wormgod titan, & stronghold void bulwark titan was my team. Secondly, post some build data. DIM allows you to share each character's setup.                     • I finished avalon for all characters (not solo as too lazy to try it) and can say that it's not hard if you have correct build, know the mission and know what to do. A lot of player got used to hold down the fire button and look how mobs are dying. But a lot of players even can't jump (including me when playing warlock, bungo fix this now!!!) catching screebs with your face and lot more. Also it's already easier as timer little bit increased. If you can't, just play on 10 guardian rank like it was before EoF.

                    • There are only a few builds that will survive. Easiest for me was the Prismatic Consecration Titan. Spend almost all time spamming melees, transcendence, then super. The helmet this event helped giving devour or void shield. I was fortunate to find good team mates after probably 100 tries on Avalon. My only clear, I got sniped trying to enter the hole on the last damage phase of the Hydra boss. The team managed to beat it without me. Was sad, but relieved at the same time. Only ran Hypernet maybe 30 times, just gotta learn the route and avoid enemies when you can. Skulls for damage are mandatory. Made it to 2nd damage phase of final boss before I lost focus and died to boss blight, but team finished it off. Just glad it's done, I never thought I'd get Guardian Rank 11, but I had some good team mates along the way and got lucky.

                      • Out of all the conquest I feel Avalon is the most unforgiving due to no health Regen, standing still kills you, attrition, and screebs, add in arc puddles and yeah it's ridiculous. Last one I need to clear for rank 11 and to reach 550.

                        • It really wasn't horrible, we had a hunter in our team and I looked over your build, if that's what youre using I can see why it's hard hc shotgun hc arent gonna work in higher end stuff. We ran 2 locks and a hunter and was a lfg group I did it with.
