Was in a thread about the new Warlock Exotic, user mentioned that Mataiodoxia was trash, I went to the Shooting Range to try it out, and it doesn't have enough range to suspend any of the trash mobs in the range when standing in their standard formation - while the Shackle Grenade is able to get four Suspends.
Unless a player has 200 melee, a single melee attack can't kill at -30 Delta, meaning I've got to spend multiple melees to get the kill, or warming the enemy up/killing them off, which really reduces the Exotic's Utility, but even then, when the kill does come, the Suspend has less range than if I'd used one of my grenades. Plus I can take an Aspect that lets me regenerate Grenade just by dealing damage, to regenerate Melee ability I have to destroy a Tangle.
Mataiodoxia feels like I'm spending more resources to get a smaller result, they aren't well balanced right at the moment. Maybe something to give Melees more killing power, to help us use that limited suspend more efficiently, but increasing the range of the Suspend to match, then maybe even surpass our Grenade range would be where I'd start.

1 Reply1st issue, you’re using it on Strand. Mataiodoxia is a strand flavored exotic, but its efficacy is primarily in Prismatic, where with transcendence, you’ll have very high uptime on your Arcane Needle. Furthermore, Mataiodoxia is a utility exotic, meaning any melee stat point above 100 while using it is pointless. You either mark the enemy and kill them with something else, like your weapon, or you spend all three Melees to get the uber blast. 2nd Mataiodoxia acts similar to Mindspun Invocation, in particular, the benefit you get from consuming your Shackle Grenade. This is to say, on strand, there is already a better option than Mataiodoxia. Thus, why it’s a Prismatic Exotic. You can use it on strand as a substitute for Mindspun, but at that point, you’re making a watered down build that isn’t good at anything. The reason it works on Prismatic is that Prismatic fundamentally builds differently than Strand resulting in a fairly potent build. (Devour and Helion killing suspended targets and keeping your health up). All in all, you’re just using Mataiodoxia incorrectly.
