Give us Destiny 3
Marathon is a game no one wanted or asked for I just don’t get why the Devs can’t see that and fully focus on developing Destiny 3 that many players have asked for and want already.

1 ReplyI still say turning Marathon into an extraction shooter was a stupid idea, It could have become the second coming of Halo like single player gameplay with one massive one player story campaign with pvp multiplayer option. that would have a high possibility of sales then just an extraction shooter trying to target an audience that already has the games they spend hrs in and won't leave. We all know why they are doing this it's pretty obvious BUNGIE wants a second income so that they can bring in more money besides Destiny 2 which is their only income, at the moment they basically trying to pull off a Madden and NBA 2k move the only problem is they targeting a audience they never had which is why this won't end well.

No point in Destiny 3 if it is with these devs at the helm. With what they are doing to the game currently how can they be trusted with a brand new game?

2 RepliesIt's getting really old just how many people are convinced D3 is possible. Bungie is in no condition to even think about starting D3. Whatever is left of the devs are either trying to salvage D2, or get Marathon out the door. They can't pull people away from D2 because that's their only source of income at the moment, and they can't pull people away from Marathon because they've already invested so much time and resources into it that it would ruin them not to release it and at least try to earn something back. They can't even put people on it after Marathon is out, because Bungie will most likely want to make sure that their games are at a reasonable position before starting something new. So all the people working on Marathon will either keep working on the game until it dies out, or be put back on D2 until player counts increase to a safe level again.

7 RepliesNoone wants destiny 3 it would be starting over and being spoon fed the same content again. They needed to start the new saga in a different engine code the game properly and continue it like a true mmo. Wherever they are now is not it, and destiny 3 in these same people's hands wouldn't be it either.

Honestly, the 2 Destiny games I want to see (first off, wouldn't be live service) would take place during A) the collapse, B) the founding of the Last City.

D3 won't save the franchise if the same leadership across the board is in place. It's not just the execs (who actually do very little besides oversee monetization) but the core devs are incompentent. The only way destiny survives if another studio picks it up. Bungie is no longer necessary.

D3 would not help anything at this point. People need to stop saying D3 like it's some magical cure all. As long as the same people making the choices are still there, D3 would have the same problems.

If it came with a new engine, sure. Having a D3 with the same engine and issues would be pointless and may as well just put D3 on the current content.

1 ReplyBungie just needs to take out the 2 out of Destiny 2 and just keep upgrading the game better engine better graphics just update by update. You don’t need a whole new game.

I agree but they had the perfect chance and didn't take it. After final shape they could have made a new game a new story and with all the changes and a reason to make new locations and not have old ones but now they would have a hard time working that all in. They should have taken time to do that and give us small updates to destiny 2 while making d3 but at this point we are stuck with destiny the portal.

People forget that D2 falls perfectly into their roadmap. They wanted to have a few live service multiplayers games running at the same time. So there was no plan to bring out D3 but to continue with D2 for years to come. It just sucks that every year Bungo runs into big internal changes and seems to have difficulties trying to maintain a solid posture towards everyone else. So the playerbase and clients (us) are getting different unexpected result. Mostly negative.... Even running a company is like playing a game apparently.
