Stop playing matches that don't have the pumpkin bombs as those can take down the shield too. You can't clear an ad spawn point simultaneously with another, space them out.

It's was about 35%-40% softlocking for me before the "fix", now it's about 10% or 15% due to the shriekers not desponding on round 3. And on the final boss, the envoke circles will reappear many times if not activated quickly... Festival of the Glitch....

I feel they should just increase the candy we get significantly or properly look at the drop rates of all the FOTL gear and significantly increase holofoil drop rates or let us upgrade our gear to such. Drop rates, I feel like I'm getting more shotguns than the bow or SMG. Or when I do get one of any of them, I can expect to get multiple copies next. Hell I've got like 7 holofoil shotguns in the past couple days but I've gotten maybe 3 tops of the bow and SMG since the event started. Holofoil upgrades or drop chances, there's really no reason not to. They offer no inherent advantage unlike the Into The Light weapons or ROTN. Even ROTN offered nothing of an advantage (not that we got to really enjoy those weapons what with the event only lasting 10 weeks then immediately being replaced by the tiered/ featured gear systems) if you could get gold rewards in any of the higher difficulty versions. Candy to make up for the week of constant soft locks and lost loot.

I've played that event like 6-7 times. Got the bow i wanted and the smg. I reached lvl 30 by playing portal activities. Lots of bugs and inconsistent damage going on in that event. [spoiler] Crossbow is not real! 😭[/spoiler]
