Just pull the plug
Low population = long matchmaking for crucible
Season pass = pay to win (score bonus for owners of season pass)
No new/fun content and no weekly content
Power deltas = not playing the not fun activities
More than half activities not matchmade = not playing non-matchmade activities
No statements from game management = no future
Trials behind the Edge of Faith expansion = low Trials population
No dedicated PvP servers = poor PvP experience
Cheaters
Fireteam finder sucks
Portal sucks
No interesting story
No new enemy fractions
No new activities
Old raids irrelevant
No interesting new loot
We already have all weapons
No vault space increease in years
No people to develop new exciting content
None of my friend play anymore
All resources poured into Marathon
Bugs
Trying to make a maintenace mode of D2 with still bringing bags of money in cosmetics without new content does not seem like good longterm strategy as playe count shows.
In the current situation the only thing you can do is close for 3 years and make new story and D3 or just pull the plug.

Yes there were a lot of “miss” with EoF, starting with the matterspark, but they were also a few wins: - Amor 3.0 is great, a huge improvement in term of build crafting. - The new stats system is also excellent, allowing us to invest past 100 for added bonuses. - The shooting range - The tier system was a good idea even though it’s been poorly executed Yes content is not great at the moment, mostly recycled stuff, and bugged. But the core gameplay loop of crafting powerful build to win (PvP and PvE) is still very good. And I believe there is a path forward for D2

It would be the kindest thing. Because right now this game is a tedious chore of old boring content, pointless power grinds and endless frustration with a developer too arrogant to get out of their own way. They had so much feedback on these changes before this DLC launched, feedback that told them no one wanted these changes, and they did it anyway. And people left in droves. There are so many better games out there. Games worth your time and effort. Games that are fun. Bungie had a real chance at making a classic. One for the ages. Instead we got years of Bungie taking a dump in their hands and clapping. People are tired of it. Edge of Fate was one time too far. Now everyone is gone.And they are pinning their hopes on a Star Wars crossover. Pathetic.

Player numbers are in the toilet and the amount of new content has been cut back so drastically that its blatantly obvious the game is just done. I expect a post like what New World got after Renegades releases maybe with the Shadow and Order update being the final update we ever receive. They are hoping Marathon will pop off but the reality is that Marathon seems just as barebones as the content we are receiving in D2. From that I expect Sony to fully absorb them and Bungie to completely shut down.

2 RepliesI'd rater Bungie didn't shut Destiny 2 down, but then I'm still having fun playing the game. I've enjoyed the hell out of Haunted Altars of Sorrow, and Reclaim and Heliostat aren't nearly as bad as everyone made them out to be. Meanwhile, Bungie has addressed a lot of pain points with Edge of Fate, like depreciating Unstable Cores, speeding up leveling, smoothing out the difficulty curve, increasing drop rates, improving Warlock buddies, and adding new content to the Portal; the game is arguably in a better state now than when Edge of Fate launched, I want more of those changes, not fewer. I hear your complaints, and despite them I'm still having fun, and still looking forward to Renegades. If you're done with the game then find something else to play for a while, you're allowed, you don't need to come on the forums and tell Bungie to shut the game down.

Well sans tiered loot, kinda like, yet also hate it (Bungo weighting SUCKS) But for the game itself please force them to go back and play The Taken King from beginning to end and then Forsaken. They are true gems in this game and where and how they should dev for the future. Put the Portal into the background and re set matchmaking to strikes and nightfalls NOW!!! Oh and I'm an SLR fan so----

4 RepliesCaveat: I am a strong advocate to announce D3 as a work in progress…then, open the loot floodgates in D2, including all the old stuff, and planets, whilst they concentrate on getting on with D3. I’ve already made a number of posts detailing my input, such as it is. As have many other reasonable Guardians. So, no point to repeat here. Currently, EoF reads like an old DC / Marvel comic from way back…or an expanded storyboard: a whole mishmash of unconnected snippets stuck together with sticky tape. Even the Lore lords are shaking their heads. I do believe a ‘poison chalice’ was created either by accident or design, by departing ‘vested’ interests, who couldn’t give an eff once they’d secured their golden escape pods. Those left behind are, I believe, trying to right this floundering vessel…or they’re NOT - and are just going to let Nature take its course. Either way, it’ll take some time… ITMT: I’m not touching a lot of portaloo stuff, though I am just pootling about the place, levelling-up old toys (10s) mostly in patrol zones or the lowest level solo ops, or in the crucible. Simple stuff…enough to get t5 loot for my 10s as infusion material. And, for me, with an eye on the long game, it’s enough! If, for whatever reason, Destiny gets canned, it had a good run. Alternatively, if sensible heads prevail and commit to Destiny’s ongoing adventure or D3 - this old tortoise will still be here, if I haven’t already left the planet and reported to my eternal Duty Station at my very own Lighthouse… Oh, and Murphy’s coming too! 👻 That is all. If they stretched the story into weekly beats like seasons people would have complained, if they did it like this where they said here's all the content you get play it like you want and people blow through it in 2 weeks they complain. I would hate to work for bungie lol this community is insanely bipolar. Does the portal suck? Kind of only because some activities are match made, is it hard to find a fireteam for the other stuff? No. Thats just being lazy on the players end. Did gearing and featured gear suck? Absolutely. Thats going to be made irrelevant in Renegades. No new vault space? Being given in Renegades. You do realize they tried something and it failed we all knew it wasn't going to be good when it was announced. They are trying to correct course and meet the demands of people that left. People that stayed and the hardcore community. It will never be perfect for everyone, maybe it's just time you moved on because you dont like the direction? Why waste all the energy being negative and complaining when you clearly dont enjoy it? Edit forgot you also complained about no new enemy factions, guess what? It's coming in renegades you either dont follow the news about this game and blindly complain or again are just complaining because you dont like the direction of the game and want it tailored directly to your playstyle.

No new Enemy faction - We got the infected fallen, and new Jetpack fallen with it. that's cool asf. No new activities - Reclaim is fun and engaging, it's just not what people wanted out of the Plaguelands. No Interesting new loot - Rocket pulses and crossbows are fun as hell. No vault increase - We're getting 150 slots in renegades, but you don't use half of your vault anyway. low trials population - because Bungie loves cirrus plaza and eventide labs, but the players don't. No people to develop exciting new content - The team they have (Other then whoever is making exotics) is doing a good job. I love the narrative, even if it is leaning [i]way[/i] too hard into making a seasonal villain of the week something more.
