Upgrade your Tier Armor for a Price
So like the title say.
I feel that is something really missing here
If you have played during Solstice but your rank was low and you drop only tier 2, tier 3 loot.
Wouldn't it be a good thing to go see Banshee or Ada-1 for your weapon upgrade tier and Rahool for your Armor
I kid you not since the Start of Efge of Fate I must have Focused one (1) Exotic armor pieces for Ascendant shard and a Exotic Cypher...
I did not complete one Xenology quest in Edge of Fate and all exotic Cyoher I could Use I don't cuz I don't see the use for it since 80 % of our exo Armor are not Featured. This is another topic but jeez you mess it up bad with that idea... anyway. To the Topic in hand here.
So bringing your Tier 3 Lutrous Gauntlet to Rahool and Banking some Glimmer and Consumable in it to upgrade it should be a thing.
Not to make it game breakin on the cost like 1000 glimmer and a tap in the back. We should need to work for it. More like for Armor:
Tier 1 to 2 : 50 000 Glimmer 1 ascendant Shard
Tier 2 to 3 : 50 000 Glimmer 2 Ascendant Shard
Tier 3 to 4: 100 000 Glimmer 2 Ascendant Shard 1 Exo Cypher
Tier 4 to 5: 250 000 Glimmer 3 Ascendant Shard 2 Exotic Cypher.
For Weapons swap the Ascendant Shard for Alloy instead.

We will be able to upgrade the tier for weapon and armour in the Shadow and Order major update coming after Renegades.

Could be a simple way to repurpose crafting materials if that’s not a focus anymore.

Imagine being able to upgrade your old armor and weapons into the tier system? Tier 5 Word of Crota would go hard

I'd even pay 400,000 glimmer if you could bring a legacy weapon into the tiering system. Then you could go through what you've outlined to raise it through the tiers. I miss Gnawing Hunger.

No. If you don’t want to do a simple quest to rank up, then you don’t deserve to rank up and have higher tier. It’s a “you problem”. They removing system on the economy because of cost/backlash but you want then to add another system for people who are lazy to do simple quests. So I say it again: No!

5 RepliesI begged them to do that a while back when they announced they were making weapons upgradable. The whole tier system (especially for armour) was one of the main reasons I quit before EoF launched. I knew the grind was gonna be miserable, and that they would inevitably balance the game around tier 5 armour, making all the other tiers useless. I don't know if that last part's happened yet, but we all know it's going to, just like how they balanced the game around T10 Resilience, when that was in the game. Given how massive the gap in buildcrafting potential is between T4 and T5 armour, it needs to be accessible, even to us "filthy casuals" that Bungie hates so much despite the fact that we kept the lights on for them.
