I only noticed this morning that the difficulty level had changed. I was no longer a newbie, a whelp, a kitten, and nor was I even an expert (as if), but reaching a higher level had somehow catapulted me into something I just wasn’t prepared for.
400 doesn’t represent me who, as a poor, bang average, less than average player, struggles to get his ship into orbit, and now because my level gives a false sense of my skill (non-existent at the best of times), I’m thrust into harder content where I can barely get twenty kills and die with alarming regularity!
I’m quite enjoying the haunted candy thingy, have had no soft locks and the rewards are quite acceptable, but boy oh boy do I feel underpowered and underperforming running ‘grandmaster’ level events.
Yeah, I’m at 400, but I still feel like a 200 player at best!

1 ReplyHey Guardian! I would not consider myself a very good player either and was a little surprised when I hit 400 and started GM level activities. However, my suggestions to make things easier would be : - Get some weapons with good rolls you enjoy using. Mint Retrograde in your primary slot is a lifesaver. Zavala also has a good selection of Mida Mini Tools right now for your energy slot (I would recommend the one w/ Heal Clip & Incandescent/Burning Ambition) - Check YT, etc. for a build you think would be fun. If you are a Warlock, I would recommend the void grenade/Contraverse Hold gloves/Chaos Accelerant build. A friend recently turned me on to this and you can just devastate enemies with almost constant grenade uptime. - Keep playing the Haunted Alters activity for the rewards, but also to get a feel for how GM at -25 will continue to feel like as you play. It is a chill and fun event imo. Reclaim is also a fun event to play to get good rewards vs. time spent and also is a good source of GM level difficulty "training" Good luck Guardian and keep at it!
