There's so many bugs in the game at the moment that seem like they're the result of script trigger conditions being bypassed somehow (ex. condition for current step met but game freaks out, skips the next part of the process and waits for another condition in the part of the process that it skipped, that NEVER HAPPENS, so it just sits there). All of the game processes are dependent on the client-to-server connectivity. The servers are also really wobbly right now, so I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of these bugs have a sole root cause somewhere with the server connection and information being sent to and from. Another thing. You know what didn't happen with Festival of the Lost this time? Day 1 emergency maintenance. Sure wouldn't seem like it would need it due to the current player population, but event currency/ingredients were always notorious for causing game/server issues in the past (candy spawning/collecting/spending is apparently a lot for the game to process). It might not be helping the integrity of the game right now either, but I guess the best way to troubleshoot and check that would be to wait for the event to end. If some issues fix themselves (or become less buggy at least) after the event ends, then I'd guess the servers would be a major cause of some of the bugs and a maintenance would be necessary. Wouldn't fix everything, I'm sure, but hopefully at least something if so.
