Then maybe start sending out surveys to all emails registered on the forums.
I don't just mean the opt in silver surveys you do.
I mean like FOTL armour set voting style surveys.
Give people some bright dust or silver for filling them out.
Actually see what really irks the general playerbase. And once you got that data, ask more questions directly to do with it.
Then talk about the surveys in the TWID. Set down what you are realistically going to be able to achieve. Give us a tough time frame. Tell us if something isn't going to be realistic or it might take longer. A lot of us would rather hear something can't be done or will take longer than silence.
Example - you can ask the question of what exotic weapons do you feel need a little help in the game?
And maybe say, 30 percent answer with Trinity Ghoul, as an example, which is the highest answer.
You can then ask - In our last survey, it was noted that Trinity Ghoul seems to be underperforming. What buffs could you suggest to improve it?
And maybe the highest results are add jolt or voltshot to it and improve draw time.
Then Bungie announce this in the TWID, but maybe it can't come at Renegades launch because they already have plans for other weapons or they want to see how the Arc based artifact improves it before they do, but they say roughly a month after launch, they could implement it.
And so on. You want to prove you are actually listening to everyone? Here's how.

Ok with the part where we give feedback about what we like and don’t like. Hard pass on having the community drive the content of the game. Folks have good ideas, but there are too many conflicting ideas on the direction the game should take. Plus, believe it or not designing a good game is a real job, it takes more than just liking video games to make good games. As the Embark team said you want dev to “interpret” what people are asking, not just give in to demands or it just doesn’t work.
