Festival of the Lost holofoils?
I do love me some rare loot and the chase but I've somehow managed ZERO (other than the reward track nonsense which are pointless) and I've hit rank 30, completed the title and handed in 30+k worth of candy so far. Do they exist? At first I thought it might be tied to you picking them up in the rewards track first, but apparently not.
It wouldn't be so bad if the most effective way to earn candy wasn't so buggy and frustrating. You may have fixed the boss soft-lock but now the hive plate will sometimes not spawn, so you're unable to move on.
Also, whoever thought to add the Dred on round three, bravo 👏🏻 I LOVE being constantly frozen, then thrown across the map constantly. 🙄👍🏼

Just hit 30 on the event track today. 1 holofoil gained (outside of the track) from turning in candy. Besides the awesome green glow, I have gotten better T5s from doing Alters.

2 RepliesI base this only on my experience so far with holofoils in the new post EoF activity reward tracks (ie. Arms Week, Solstice, and FotL), but the only time I have ever aquired a holofoil was AFTER I have aquired it in said track. My wife has experienced the same thing. Again has been our experience, so if true then early farming for them would not produce them as drops until that holofoil weapon is aquired. (Its something Bungie has done before, needing to unlock a weapon before being able to farm it) If anyone has gotten a holofoil BEFORE aquiring that same holofoil weapon from the reward track, I would definitely be interested to know as this is a theory.

From what I have heard, the engram you buy from Eva has a pretty high chance of holofoils. Tier is based on guardian level though. Id suggest getting your guardian rank to that level where they drop T5 and farm them with candy. (guardian 8 or 9 if someone could confirm) Also, from what I have seen, candy and FotL drops are in almost every activity in the portal. You can load strikes solo and just mess around on that planet and farm. Same with the new raid. Not sure on "legacy" content, ie old raids, dungeons etc if they also drop random engrams or candy. Havent checked this yet.

1 ReplyHolofoil isn't even good, usually its got crap perks on a weapon I'll never use, in the vault ya go I'll sort out my 200+ FotL weapons later, or once the vault is filled.

I've hit rank 30 as well, got maybe 5 holofoils along the way. So they are pretty rare.
