As a fan, I wouldn’t make a Destiny 3.
I’d keep Destiny 2 alive — but give it a massive, game-changing update.
Armor:
There would only be one main armor set.
Everything else would be ornaments that drop from raids, dungeons, strikes, planets, and PvP. That way, style becomes a reward for effort and dedication.
Armor Mods:
Each activity would have its own exclusive mods — and they’d only work in that activity.
PvP mods for PvP. Raid mods for Raids. Dungeon mods for Dungeons.
Simple, focused, and rewarding.
Planets:
Planets would change every week, like the Dreaming City once did.
Each planet would have unique activities, weapons, and armor.
You’d have three months to chase them — then the activities and rewards would rotate into something new.
Just like the old Escalation Protocol days, where every week felt alive.
Weapons:
Weapons would have mod slots too, with activity-specific mods you can earn.
Some would be rare and powerful, but they’d only work in the activity they drop from.
PvP would have its own exclusive mods — only for those who live for the Crucible.
Raids:
Every six months, raids would get new ornaments and mod rotations to keep them exciting and fresh.
And most importantly — I’d bring all the vaulted content back into the game. Every piece of Destiny history deserves to be played again.
The game would be 100% free-to-play, with an optional premium pass for cosmetics and extras.
Events:
There would be world bosses appearing on planets — epic encounters for everyone to join.
And smaller mini-events that drop random cosmetics, just for fun.
Community Love:
Players who help new Guardians through raids or endgame activities would earn exclusive cosmetics — ornaments, emblems, and trackers that prove their kindness and leadership.
Vex Portal:
I’d add a mysterious Vex Portal in the Tower.
Jumping in would throw you into a random activity with random modifiers and locked gear — but with exclusive rewards waiting for those brave enough to face the unknown.
And finally…
I’d hit the reset button.
A complete fresh start for everyone.
All Guardians would begin again — max level 40, power 200. A new journey for all.
But for those who’ve been here since the beginning — the veterans who gave years of their lives to Destiny — they’d receive something truly special:
an exclusive seal, a full armor set, an emblem, and a shader that can never be dropped again.
A symbol of their legacy that will live forever in the stars.

1 ReplyDestiny 3 is like 5 years out. Destiny 3 won't happen until Destiny 2 is playable in it's entirety.
-
They should add raid and dungeon title gilding. That would at least slightly bump people wanting to play older ones.
-
Not trying to steal your limelight but all they need to do is bring new factions with their own armor, bounties, and weapons. Open all the planets with the options of modes (Normal, legendary, Mythic) with drops ranging from tier(if necessary). And they can bring the Portal in the weekends with the means to earn higher than normal XP and rare loot. And NO dumb modifiers! And for public events let the Nine make it interesting And have it sorta "Onslaught-ish" but not 50 rounds just like a normal public event

These are the worst campaign promises I’ve read.
-
worst Idea I have read in a long time. Having to change armor and wepaon mods for every single drop, would be exhausting! No way would this ever work!

Reset for all I think this idea came to your ant size brain cause you can't level up or something. Random portal We already have that and players are angry about it. A campaign mission where you were supposed to unlock it at 200 power is still crap cause bungie brought delta in everything. To make game hard for few, 97% players are suffering from it. I get it we need some ultimate level stuff to play and unlock weapons and armor. But that's why we have raids. But making everything delta makes no sense at all. Not always but sometimes players need to just kill everything in 2 mints to feel alive. But that isn't acceptable by bungie where every activity is preselected for you. Mods are pre selected. Even if you try to customize it, some mods are locked and preselected. Even reaching 550 makes you question your self is this what you leveled up for so Delta's will take over. Options are killed in this new era. Customize isn't so optional when mods are locked and enemies are given 50x the power. Now left is dark abandoned world where nothing is left to do.

3 RepliesHow much glimmer did they offer you to type this?

Pretty much only having activity specific mods would both be a lot of work, but it would make the fragmenting of destiny 2 into many smaller mini game modes worse, making the gane feel even less cohesive than it already is.

Some good ideas, I wouldn’t have only one armour for everyone.

1 ReplyThe problem with keeping D2 going is they've lost control of the code, it's 13+ year old code & the Devs who built it who previously struggled to cope, left long ago, the new Devs have 0 clue & this results in what we have now. They would have to rebuild the entire game from scratch, which is why it's all gonna end in the next year or 2. Their plan was always (as of 2020) to keep D2 going until whenever new consoles arrive & then they planned a new game if therecwqw still high interest in the franchise (not D3, a spinoff without all the faff D2 has like patrols & public events). This was confirmed by leakers as 2027, & an apparent Xbox purchase of bungue & denied by both parties - but then Phil spencer said in the Activision court case that he expected the new Xbox to release in 2027 & said that Microsoft did indeed get very close to buying bungie but backed out & bungie went to Sony soon after so it's a safe assumption 2027 is correct - also isnt this current story a 2-3 year saga? Which is 2027. Pretty safe bet that that's when support ends - if not sooner

3 RepliesI really feel like after final shape it should’ve just been moments of triumph 2. They could’ve brought back the old vaulted content and kept the game in maintenance mode with seasons and stuff.

Are you applying for a job as new community manager? 🤣

Sorry but most of your ideas don't make a lot of sense and too much work for them to implement on a true free-to-play game. For example armor:only one armor and the rest ornaments that drop on activities. How? How do you get said "base armor"? How do you get diferent stats? Mods that only work on strikes, on dungeons? So you have to swap and change stuff every activity? Just think about it. Most of what you propose does not make any sense nor is practical

3 RepliesYou would have no employees with no monetization. Can't be free with that level of team dedication needed.

Not bad ideas. However every piece of content. You talking all of d1 and d2 or just d2?
