It’s a resounding okay. The cat is adorable and obviously the best part. It’s interesting enough to explore the world and interact with parts of it. But I feel like it goes on far beyond when it’s stopped being interesting. By the final few areas I wasn’t enjoying the puzzles at all and just kind of wanted it to be over. I’ve heard arguments that the ending is sad. I mean, it kind of is, I guess. Though I thought the game was trying to spend emotional currency on the ending that it hadn’t earned. I may be in the minority there, but I do like stories to hurt me emotionally so I have less patience for when they phone it in. Not to discourage. If you like cats and walking simulators this will be up your alley. And if you like Stray, you may enjoy Keeper. It’s basically stray but with a sentient walking lighthouse and its bird. Which works far better than that sentence implies it should.
