Has anyone played this game? It's supposedly a November PS Plus free game according to a leak (allegedly reputable) and I'm curious if it's worth a try or not.

If its free just play it. Its a game where you play a cat. It has a neat concept and execution and is worthy of your time. Dont expect anything other than a game about a stray cat though.

2 RepliesI've played it. I did enjoy it. The cat is very much a cat. They did a great job of the character. I'll agree with someone else's comment about puzzles. I was done with them by the end. They were decent. I'm not a puzzler fan, so no big surprise. Some of the machanics came down to timing and positioning. There's no map. I get lost in games easily, so that was a struggle for me. The verticality of the game was fun. The environment was well done and added to the "feel" of being a cat. With movement, small interactions, and npc's of large and small importance, the dev's built a good, fun space. If you have played Spirit of the North and enjoyed it, you'd probably enjoy Stray. Lost Ember is similar in some ways, but doesn't have the puzzles.

5 RepliesEdited by The First Aifos: 10/27/2025 11:17:55 PMI have not, but I know a lot of people liked it. Spawned a whole bunch of copycat (heh) games where you play as a cat in various settings, but from what I've heard none of them really beat Stray. Supposedly it has a really good story. Really, I don't know why you're asking, though. Everybody wants to be a cat, because a cat's the only cat who knows where it's at.

1 ReplyIt’s a resounding okay. The cat is adorable and obviously the best part. It’s interesting enough to explore the world and interact with parts of it. But I feel like it goes on far beyond when it’s stopped being interesting. By the final few areas I wasn’t enjoying the puzzles at all and just kind of wanted it to be over. I’ve heard arguments that the ending is sad. I mean, it kind of is, I guess. Though I thought the game was trying to spend emotional currency on the ending that it hadn’t earned. I may be in the minority there, but I do like stories to hurt me emotionally so I have less patience for when they phone it in. Not to discourage. If you like cats and walking simulators this will be up your alley. And if you like Stray, you may enjoy Keeper. It’s basically stray but with a sentient walking lighthouse and its bird. Which works far better than that sentence implies it should.
