So apparently, this game is supposed to be getting a Playstation 5 release next year. Weird, right?
Anyway, I don't have any measurable experience with the series so I guess my question is, "Should I be interested/excited by the news?"

I have been away from here / halo news in general for so long I had no clue this was even coming out soon. If MS wants to reboot an old franchise why not remake Banjo Kazooie or something I’m sure they still own the Rare IPs. MCC is basically perfect now I don’t see why we need ANOTHER version. Port that to PlayStation and be done with it jeez. It’s like that Gears 1 remaster which is exactly the same as the previous remaster. Like WTF are they even doing at this point?

It's a gross misunderstanding of the art direction and level design in favor of "it looks so pretty omygah". Gameplay? Should be enjoyable on its own. Unremarkable graphics, Sprint, for some reason, and a very depressing Halo ring backdrop look like they'll make for a sorry Halo CE remaster, if at least a passably fun game.

If your talking about Halo: Campaign Evolved, Halo: MCC for all the good eggs (ignore Halo 4) in one(Or get the originals separately)? Hell yeah! Upcoming overpolished Halo CE(Combat Evolved) remake? Your choice, but I wouldn't even touch it -

1 ReplySo...they gave the campaign as a release to Playstation but not the whole game? Sounds convoluted but thats why I have an Xbox.

3 RepliesEdited by Steel Assassin: 10/26/2025 12:31:43 AMI mean, I had reservations but ultimately I'm sure it's going to be fun and I'm interested to see how it plays in the new engine, along with how good these new campaign missions they added are. Also, remakes and remasters are always a nice way to get newer generations interested in old content they'd probably never touch otherwise.

3 RepliesI hope they use this as a stepping stool to other halo games, like reach and 3. As someone state below, CE is definitely one of the “lowest” ones in my personal opinion. But per 343 fashion, I imagine they’ll screw this one over as well as they did the others.

6 RepliesAssuming y'all get the other Halos too, eventually, then yeah. Halo 2-4 (including ODST and Reach) are pretty good, and 5 is okay, too. Just CE by itself, though? Meh. It was always my least favorite one in the series.

1 ReplyDefinitely, should be a good time. Whatever negative/doom & gloom opinion you have. Dump that -blam!- out and grow the hell up. It’s a video game. Spend time with your friends and enjoy life!

1 ReplyIt’s pretty massive news for sure. Halo has been around for YEARS so for it FINALLY come to PlayStation is a big step in the right direction in terms of ending the Console Wars. In my opinion, this whole era of exclusives should have died a LOOOONG time ago.

1 Reply100%, especially if you’ve never played it. Combat evolved is arguably my favorite of the franchise both for the story and its multiplayer before it got more convoluted in the sequel multiplayers. Now being how it’s a remake it won’t be 100% faithful to the original but for new people to the franchise that wouldn’t play it otherwise it should still be pretty good. This will be the only way PlayStation fans get to play halo unless they go out and by the Xbox for mcc. It won’t surprise me if they end up doing something with halo 2 and halo 3, halo 3 being the big one people really want to see a remaster or something come out of. Halo overall is a big franchise, has a ton of lore to dig into and has some excellent games to get into (which I’m sure PlayStation will be getting more of in time). Personally it’s all good till you get up to halo 4 but halo 1-3 are excellent, reach is ok and the rest just depends on the person.
