Hear me out for a second before replying. While the bugs are really bad and the lag in the altars sucks the activity itself isn't bad. The PvP rumble mode is not bad. While they are both repurposed old activities they are changed enough to be not boring. I do wish we could have also had haunted lost sectors as well but that might be spreading the 1 QA worker too thin. As for the loot, it's not bad. Its not OMG I gotta farm for this super meta smg good but its not terrible. Also the free cosmetics you get from the event pass are incredible. The holochip is neat, the ghost shell, and ship are really cool. The shader is.. its a shader, the transmat effect is actually pretty neat. The sparrow.... oh what an odd shape... These are all free and far better than most of the old free stuff we got. OH also this is FAR better than the paid event pass thing we had where you could pay to get extra stuff but still had to grind. This current event pass is free, you can buy levels or grind them out and the XP gains are not terrible. Which I think we are overlooking. Bungie could have made it to it takes 5 altar clears for a single level on the pass but they didn't. Here are my complaints, aside from the obvious bugs, Major events should be 3 weeks. FotL, Dawning, Solstice, Guardian Games. Making them only 2 weeks feels kinda bad when they have been 3 forever and it also helps with some fomo for people. I wish we could turn off crossplay for the altars activity. The lag is REALLY bad when you have 2 or more console players in the group. I am willing to wait the extra load/gather time to have a playable activity. Why isn't there a FotL reward in solo ops? Anyways with that being said I am actually kinda optimistic about dawning being decent, probably not on the first day of the event, or maybe the first week, but the second week I am actually optimistic it will be decent, the loot will be good, and the free gear will be worth the grind.
