The issue that I have with Maya Sundaresh is that she still [i]could be[/i] a threat, but she never actually is one.
"If she gets her hands on Siva, she could be a threat"
"If she teleports the golden age earth to current time, it could ruin everything"
The thing that made the Witness an actual threat is that he briefly succeeded. Oryx destroyed an entire Awoken fleet before we even knew his name. Acksis turned Russia [b]into his BODY[/b]!
what does Maya do? She tries to control Saint-14, fails. Begs for a member of the nine to help her, fails. attacks the tower at midnight, fails. Tries to bring Siva to the present, fails. She can't even control the Vex anymore because the source of her power hates her.
Is the Guardian supposed to be afraid of a Villain that hasn't succeeded [u]once[/u]?
