ideas for a actually good reclaim activity

to start this off I just wrote like 5000000 word essay basically about my idea for and then it just refreshed and it all deleted itself so I'm just gonna write something short and sweet and make this a poll to lmk if I should re write this entire thing so... back when they announced the like reclaim stuff before edge of fate I thought it was going to be like a rework of the like exploration stuff we already have in the game but it wasn't :( so here's my idea for that Name of it Reclaim: Cosmodrome what would it be? imagine the current explore mode but with more extraction shooter elements like for example there's only a few entrances to the cosmodrome and you have to start at those entrances and make your way inside plaining out what your gonna do when you get inside. How would it play?? so the link i put in the title thing is to the first gameplay reveal of D1 from I think E3 but I rewatched it and I imagine it working like that, slower paced having to check your 6 actively taking cover while another member of your fireteam flanks your attackers. with the activities your doing being more in-depth public events and exploring around the map looking for golden age tech and stuff with special high loot zones being of particular note. that kind of stuff and your really squishy (low health) example: so your requested by the vanguard to look into certain interesting potential golden age signal found somewhere in the cosmodrome that cannot be identified. you launch the zone activity thing, spawning at the first entrance your given to the cosmodrome (the one where you are originally revived with all the cars) standing in front of the massive wall holding all of the mysteries of the zone you look to your right and see a vanguard camp with Shaw and 2 vanguard scouts beside him. talking to him you can buy special equipment used for certain public events, gaining access to parts of the cosmodrome, and staying alive. (ex: transmat kit, vanguard support beacon, quadrant beacon, timed explosives, shards of the traveler etc..) the two scouts have intel on specialized one time codes used to access special high tier loot zones requiring high levels of rep to access, to get the codes you need to do essentially bounties or pay up with expensive resources. and maybe depending on what entrance you go to their are different vendors with different uses to them. but anyway you venture inside the wall clearing corridor after corridor, with minimal wounds from a overly confident Capitan getting the jump on you, you make it to the steps and find out that the signal your looking for is inside of the launch zone in the center area of the cosmodrome (like where the big colony ships are but you can go inside) once you get close enough you realize that there's a terminal req. a code to access the inside, but we already knew this and grabbed the intel of those scouts and found out that there's code fragments inside of those warsats that occasionally land around the cosmodrome, making your way over to one of these landing sites a public event starts to capture the warsat and transmat it to the tower. so like I said there would be public events but with more depth to them like this warsat one being more rare and req. that transmat kit to complete, and having more steps than stand on circle until number is 100. once we completed the event we found out what the code for the launch zone is and make our way inside battling tougher foes and finding that the golden age signal was actually a deck out brig all along. defeating it and recovering a fallen hard drive with the schematics and data of the brig we booked it out of the zone from a closer exit and get back on our ship to drop of the drive to the tower and get some epic loot. that's how a regular run of this would go. but again their would be a bunch of other players doing their own different things cooperating with things like these public events. and maybe helping out clearing tougher zones. Extra stuff: oh and then also incorporate the plague lands as a more high level activity requiring like the codes, permission from Ikora to make a expedition into the plague lands to stop maya from taking all that sweet sweet golden age tech. Final words: I also have ideas on another activity in the plague lands, lore that ties all of this into the plot properly, and adding reprised red war/D1 loot back into the game with more materials to boot if anyone's interested in hearing that rant. again I'm rewriting this, the original version was the max word count and took me 2 hours :( but again the page didn't save it. I'm gonna put a poll up if I know how this forum works to lmk if it should keep expanding on my idea for this activity cuz I have like 2 lore books worth of yap still left in me.

  • Two things I want to point out before I read your post in its entirety: 1. "Short and sweet" doesn't appear a fitting description. 2. Given their [i]alleged[/i] disdain for 'Marathon' (whether it happens or not; I don't care either way on that) perhaps "extraction shooter elements" aren't a big selling point for this crowd.
