After the forced delta patch, leveling wont matter at all beyond 470.
-I wish they would allow users to select their own delta, independent from banes and modifiers, and adjust awards accordingly.
-That way, the bloobs can have fun and feel powerful, and the sweats can go under-light all they want for a challenge.
-Not sure how they would balance rewards, but there is probably a way to do it.

My opinion is that rewards should be the exact same regardless of the Power Delta used, however I would say that the RNG could be better for choosing to play a higher tier.

Edited by Stalkholm: 9/29/2025 8:17:27 PMWe can technically run Expert instead of Master, or Master instead of Grandmaster, but that leaves the loot game on the floor. The point of progressing is to eventually get Tier 4 and 5 loot, but lower tier activities, lower Light Level activities, mostly drop trash gear. Doing lower tier Ops feels like stepping off the treadmill and giving up the chance at good carrots, which can feel as bad or worse than bouncing off harder content. As you say, it's a matter of balancing rewards, giving players of all skill levels a rewarding experience, I feel like the old system gave us a better balance for that. Maybe Tiered gear was a mistake.

The solution is so -blam!- easy and it's right under their nose. The deltas they showed in the last twab shouldn't be fixed but rather a cap. Meaning if you're in grandmaster teir and do not want any banes, hot step, counterfeit mods...then your delta won't change. But if you add banes, counterfeit, and hot step then your delta is capped at -30. Or if you just want banes then it's just -20 not -30.

Edited by Dooodley: 9/29/2025 11:37:13 AMThey need to find the sweetspot between too easy and not playing at all. A lot of people are currently in camp not playing at all. I would be fine with the +1's if the requirement was B+. They really need to up the prime drops to at least 10 % though - and preferably as high as +20 %. And I say that because with +1 drops you're now sometimes stuck at the same level for 25 activities because that last + 1 piece you need to bring you over to the next level wont drop and you're not getting any prime drops to bring you over. It's tedious.

Easier content raises level slowly. Harder content raises level much quicker. It's the old risk vs reward. Bungie almost had it but overcomplicated it by adding the power deltas to the modifiers. Now they are swinging back too far the other way by forcing power deltas no matter the difficulty. It's like Bungie have forgotten how to add levels to the enemies but instead have to base their levels on our own.
