  • Excuse me, pardon me. I need to make a small correction to your heading. "Players dropping like flies, thanks to wealthy managers who never wanted a good game, only to generate maximum revenue while meeting the minimum investment required to drive ongoing revenue." No one meaningfully blames the dev team, or even, or even their immediate managers, this is all about higher management r*ping their staff and their customers. I work in a hotel as an auditor. No, I don't just do the night shift, I have to dig through a ton of paperwork, file tax documents, run and compile different revenue reports on different spreadsheets, and tracking down financial errors. My job is a pain in the -blam!-. But. I recognize this behavior. One of the few times I quit a job due to bad experience was a fairly upscale hotel where the owners were letting it rot out from under them. Lobby AC fails, let the staff suffer, mold in a room? Paint over it. Paint over it again. Paint over it again. Can't get rid of it, put it out of order and use it as storage. Ternutes? What termites? Oh those termites... They just put in the minimum effort to keep revenue rolling in, sucking the place and people dry for all they can, and when eventually the place is to far gone to run anymore, cut and run. Sound familiar? This is not abnormal in the hotel industry and I won't work for anyone with this mindset. Because my job is to deliver what my guests deserve, quality service, and caring attention. I end most conversations with "And if you have any thoughts or concerns, please give me a chance to fix it for you." and then I actually -blam!- do it. Bungie's management are economic parasites. What I described above ultimately exists in every industry, and parasites need to be.... The host of the parasites need to be quarantined so that it can't spread, and the parasites need to be removed, and kept from ever infecting another host. Parsons should never be allowed to hold an executive role after this -blam!- show again, and yet, he's what executive boards are looking for.
