Usually not one to complain but Bungie has completely missed the mark on the direction of Destiny 2. Players asked for better content, so they removed seasonal missions and replaced them with the portal in which players are thrown into time constraints and ridiculous content for sub par rewards. I just don't understand why not just have the dungeons or a weekly rotation (like previous D2 seasons) to produce pinnacle rewards. Why chop them up into sections under the guise of allocated rewards. I've watched the player base dwindle and the more that i continue to play the more it is blatantly obvious Bungie has lost their sense of direction. Each activity that is put in the portal (solo, fireteam, pinnacle) is a repeated chore and more of an annoyance than it is "content". Each event while when first introduced can be generally fun the repetitions make it seem like there was no thought placed into it. Then daily rotation happens and instead on getting arms for the mission I've completed 100 times the previous day it is updated to legs.
Crafting which in my opinion made the game unique has all been abandoned. Raids and dungeons are all obsolete. Players are spending hours on their "new and improved" fireteam finder to no avail. All this while bungie still produces a buggy sub par season despite the fan base pleading for them to put in a fraction of effort.
The game i love and spent 4800 hours playing has become a shell of what it once was. Hoping on i use to play destiny as if it were a full time job and now i label myself as a casual player that if friends are on playing ill hop on but ultimately play other things once the boredom inevitably sets in.
TLDR Bungie just listen to your player and look at your dwindling numbers.

Even with the changes today announced in the TWAB it’s still not enough. The clear majority has spoken and they dislike the grind and the Portaloo. D2 Population: September 17/18 Overall: 387.59k PVE: 301.74k PvP: 212.94k Gambit: 3.26k Raid: 24.58k Event: 208.88k via warmind.io | Guardians Tracked: 70.89M At peak playing time this is low. Especially when you compare it to a week or so ago D2 Population: September 09/10 Overall: 562.35k PvE: 553.20k PvP: 83.83k Gambit: 4.25k Raid: 17.04k via warmind.io | Guardians Tracked: 70.83M The less we play the more the game will improve. Or it’ll die for good. Either way at least the current abominable version of the game will be gone.

Bungie: We’re listening and we heard your feedback…. Anyways here’s a bunch of nerfs no one asked for.

It is just another example of Bungie sunsetting in the game. The have removed all of the fun and just made us grind. The numbers are plummenting and I bet the revenue is too, keep your players engaged and happy Bungie and they will spend the money.

Yeah it’s a dumpster fire 🔥.

Game ain’t perfect rn, no argument. But man I love the new build crafting. Fun bug aside like the sword and Sturm, there are really great build synergies in PvE and I’m having a good time just testing them in the different activities. Sure the modifiers fest is bad and ruining some of the mechanics, and I don’t like that everything has to be so hard to make progress past a certain point. But I think there’s still fun to be had.

They are working on another of those road maps....... If their working structure wasn't doing less with fewer every single day maybe they would stand a chance but when the foundations are rotten no coat of paint will sell it.

Edited by coda-jj: 9/17/2025 10:46:05 PMI really like the reward structure from 400-450 and how it will rain loot after 450 but by the time I get to 450, I’ll only have 1 day to get tier 5s on every drop as streamers have been at tier 5 for 2 months. It’s all in an effort for people to get frustrated with no powerful drops and spend money on rank up passes. That’s the part that bothers me. Over thought every avenue of leveling they know they’re going to get revenue from it
