Much like EoF, Vanilla D2 launched in a state no one wanted and in a new direction no one wanted. Much like EoF, Bungie refused to listen to feedback and triple downed on their bad decisions until something happened.
The player population got so low and pre-orders for new content got so low that Bungie was scared that the studio would close down.
If you want another “Forsaken” moment in this game - history doesn’t repeat itself, but it rhymes…

Weird the stuff some of you guys think or hope will suddenly "Fix," a purposefully destroyed IP. Poor guys.
-
We should do better let’s aim for 5000
-
If the pop drops bellow 10k they'll just end support for the game as by that point there arnt enough active players to sustain development costs.
-
Eventually they will listen … just hope it’s not too late
-
I said this and if it dies. Better than tarnishing the game further. It is what it is.

I played a handful of hours last week. Not out of protest, just boredom. I usually hop on every day. Honestly, I’d play so much more older content, despite not having tiered gear, if the -blam!- legacy fireteam finder was available. Mass exodus.
-
Destiny was at least playable during Curse of Osiris.
-
Go play better games until Bungo get they're act together.
-
This was the plan all along, marathon is almost out
-
Problem with that is it wont happen. Console armchair dad gamers keep this game alive along with the addicted pc gamers.
-
Trials match making is a -blam!- show
-
Nothing about the game is enjoyable. I turn it on and turn it back off within 15 minutes.
-
Considering I just got an email from Bungie to pre-order Renegades since they are desperate. I'll pass.
-
Well if no one or less but the new DLC that would hurt them more ! But still a lot of players under the Bungie curse ….addicted and just can’t let d2 go !
-
That’s what I am hoping for. Steam player count has been pretty low. Consoles need to do the same.

Edited by Golden: 9/15/2025 9:19:14 PMThey need to reach CoO numbers to start freaking out. Curse of Osiris saw extremely low players daily players on console. Edit: Meant console not Steam

There's a saying, "the second verse sounds like the first." Er something like that.

Lol that's not how game development works. The only way we'll get another Forsaken will be if the US switches from a capitalist economic system. Or if the board of directors at Sony decides they no longer want to maximize their profits.
