Cross save will not authenticate Steam help?
As I have just moved to a PC build to play all my games when I go to play D2 it wants to set me up with new characters instead of my characters from my Xbox. I have tried disabling cross play and re-authenticating steam but every time I try it gives the same error where it says it cant authenticate. when I try signing into bungie through steam it want me to link a new profile or create one. when I try to link to my original account it simply will not connect. I have no idea what todo at this point as I have tried what the forum says to do and still nothing works. Any suggestions????

Edited by BNGHelp9: 9/15/2025 7:33:06 AMHey there, if you're signing in through Steam, and it's asking about linking a new profile/creating a new one, it means that the Steam account you are signing in with is a different account to the one linked to your XBox account here. If it was the correct account, you'd just be logged straight into this same account that you are using here and now. That's the reason why you see no characters when logging into the game on that same account, and that's also the reason why the validation step is failing, you're using credentials belonging to a different Steam account. Also because this account already has a Steam account attached to it, you're unable to link the new one to it. You'd have to work out which Steam account is linked and log into that one instead.
