Frame drops post Edge of Fate

Hello. Since the start of the Edge of Fate I've noticed frame drops from small amounts 5-10 frames and large drops going from 100 to 50 frames. These numbers aren't the exact numbers. It happens most frequently in three situations. First, when accelerating and in jumping animations. Second, when a large number of projectiles are hitting my character or shown on my screen. Third, when successive sounds like Turrets firing trigger in game. I've updated my pc as much as I could for all software. My issue isn't on the global list bungie has provided. My pc still runs monster hunter wilds and other games just fine with no frame drops. I lowered destiny 2's settings to their lowest and it still has occurred. Has anyone else had any issues similar to mine and if so, what have you done to fix it. The only option I've found online is to verify files and reinstall the game. I'd prefer not to lose an entire day downloading the 180 gbs of destiny. Can anyone help a brother out?

  •
Can anyone help a brother out?
Find a better optimised game? I find this so sad for Destiny. Used to be this game would run on a potato AND look great, long gone are those days.

    • The biggest framerate hits I've seen in-game are from Ambient Occlusion and Depth of Field, turning those down, or off, would be my first suggestion, but you've already tried that by lowering the graphical settings. Second suggestion would be verifying all files, cleaning your shader cache, and reinstalling graphics drivers, but I've done those things myself and still get poor performance in some areas. Edge of Fate, sadly, doesn't seem as well optimized as the rest of the game. I've been getting framerate drops in EoF as well, both with the 6700 XT I used to have at the 9060 XT I upgraded to. I think the problem isn't on our end; I can run most of the game at 100fps+, but sometimes it tanks down into the 50s. Mostly I notice the drop, like you, when there are a large number of projectiles on screen, or when I'm near DoF objects, like the drilling platform at the Sieve. I don't think the problem is on your end, I think Bungie just didn't optimize EoF as well as the rest of the game.

    • Deinstall ALL your GPU drivers and scrub the shaders afterwards. Then you might have to download the game again.
