can someone explain this to me

so transformers came out in 2007, 18 years ago, how the hell does it still look as good as it does. movies nowadays look good but u can tell whats cg and whats not. but in transformers its very hard to tell with some things, and like the autobots and decepticons obviously being cg look like theyre actually real

  • It's actually quite simple, they are not giving digital artists enough time for their craft. Although movies still take just as long to create the problem most movies are running into is there is no planing when it comes to CGI. Most directors and producers have no personal experience with CGI so they don't know how to applicate it to it's best abilities. Not only that but scripts and scenes are constantly being redone up to just a few months before release giving CGI artists very little time to produce something good. Movie studios think you can just keep throwing more and more money into it but it's clear that doesn't work. Just as an example take a look at Godzilla Minus One, the budget is estimated at around 9 -15 million dollars (compared to marvel movies which are currently over 200 mil a piece) but the director has personal experience with CGI and had everything planned before shooting which is why the CGI looks very good even with such a meniscal budget.

  • Because the cgi was done by ILM instead of in house. Thats why Star Wars still looks good, it’s all done by ILM.
