I have an issue with the leveling, but you don't see me writing a novel about it for naught, lol

This is the craziest most insane demand of a gaming community I have ever seen. The light level grind being that high for tier 5 loot to play the portal over and over again and alone to just reset it and start it over again is just flat out unhinged. I hope you revert the Nerf to Solo Ops power gains for Ash and Iron and do NOT reset power levels for Renegade. Please[/quote] …..bruh Destiny has always, ALWAYS has been a light level simulator and treated like its Content and segregating players. Which is why I loved and was satisfied with how leveling was back during Vanilla D2. Leveling was fast and easy with everyone, everyone was able to do the Raid when it dropped. Nobody was left behind. Until the no life streamers and YouTubers complained leveling was too fast and content was being gone through so fast leading to the drip feed content, slow leveling etc etc.

I agree with the OP, but in addition to the thread, why are players of higher light penalised when playing in a team? I was only 323 last night and have got there by playing 99% solo (and WITHOUT buying the dlc). I jumped in with a few clan mates who were near or just above 300. After 5 and a half hours of playtime, I was still 323, but my clanmates had progressed. I played 3 games of crucible and increased my level to 325....2 full levels in about 40 minutes, YET I NEVER GOT A SINGLE PIECE OF LOOT ABOVE 323 PLAYING WITH CLANMATES WHO WERE BELOW MY LEVEL. Bungie, please make your mind up. You don't want us to play solo and nerf the activities, but punish us for playing the boring, long winded missions as a fireteam. Do you really want EVERYONE to quit?

If I were to compile a list of the things wrong with this game at the moment it would be a list of all the things.

It’s sad this game - originally positioned as one of adventure and exploration - has descended into a number chasing, highly repetitive game. I stopped playing years ago and amazed so many people continued on. TTK era was still amazing but nothing got close to that in my opinion.

I have been playing the game since 2018 and this is the worst experience by far. I'm at 405 and already running into the same issue. My son is 240 PL and anytime I join him to play content at his level I'm resigned to getting subpar loot. I'm already at 150k unstable cores because of all of the loot I've dismantled. The game engine also seems like it's having problems. I used to be able to run at 240 fps to match my monitor refresh and now my PC struggles to maintain 190. The feel Im getting is uninspired, stressed out developers that dont trust upper management and this is the product that satisfies basic Sony requirements. How far the mighty have fallen.

It requires 3 months of grinding the optimal method to reach 450 for the average player. (Typical player averages 1.5 hours per day and the optimal grind would be all 1.5 hours of playtime). This is a clear disincentive for the average player. Just to get loot worth while to be competitive in PvE and PvP at a high level, you literally need 3 months to grind before you can be effective. Not only this, but the power level reset will force the majority of the grind to be done again. Roughly 2 months of grinding put back onto the average player. Thus killing their want/drive to play the game. There’s a reason the game has less than 90k active players across all platforms currently at this moment.

I mean, the whole argument about segregation is just false. The game brings you up close to light level with the highest person in your group. I returned because of a lot of these changes and just started two weeks ago when my friends were already in the 400's. I was able to tag along and do all the same activities they were doing with no problem and got the rewards at my level. Previous iterations of Destiny (and many other games by the way) I would have been locked out of that higher level content and not been able to play with my friends. This is exactly the opposite of what you are saying.

Gonna be honest, if they don't bother streamlining the grind so that even a player who doesn't buy the Expansion/pass can't reasonably push through that grind, I'm not gonna bother. I'm not paying for a mediocre campaign and sloppy rearrangements to the gameplay experience, much less spending hundreds of hours just to meet another arbitrary number grind to get gear to replace what they forcibly made obsolete. I've put in more than enough time and cash since Y1 like so many others to warrant us getting real improvements and not just have the devs make bad decisions only to walk them back, back and forth. It's a shame seeing the game turn out like this so I'll still keep an eye out and be hopeful that they can yet turn this ship around after Pete tried turning it into a Titanic, but I'm not holding my breath. I got other games to play now that will respect my player investment and not just spit in my face while shoving microtransaction flyers down my throat every time I log back in after a hot minute. Got tired of that -blam!- real fast a while ago.

It's a FREE TO PLAY game. It's Just now the grind reflects that.

The segregation is a big problem and has gotten so much worse this expansion. I get what they are trying to do but in reality most people are nowhere near 450 or rank 11. I play every day now, usually a few hours. Some days i'm lucky to go from 300-305 in one day. There needs to be other things to do than focusing almost entirely on leveling. With that being said i do enjoy the quests on Kepler, i am still working on them as i was mainly trying to catch up lvl wise up until yesterday.

I'd call it a below light level simulator as that's where you are most of the time. Bungie just seems to pick the most negative solution to any problem from the players point of view which is worrying. [/quote] Happens even before that, just last night I wanted to play with a squadmate who was picking up the fireteam bonus drops. He's 332, I'm 375 so I had to equip two 200 power weapons to drop me to 331 yeah the drops were nothing but materials to me but al least we could play together. Bungie, why do we have to do this in the game that was MADE for team play?

oh Pete did this to the game then he leaves. the only thing bungie has left is the streamers for day 1 raids and a new made up epic raid. the rest of the game has been trashed. unfortunately raiders are the minority not the majority so the game won't survive long term . failed marathon and bad calls is what I'll remember of bungie.

well ... you didnt like drip fed content so you complained. so they gave you everything at once and again.. you complained. you complained that gating the power grind was bad.. so they removed the gate and what did you do ? complain. you said the seasonal stories were bad so they removed them.. and what did you do? you fkin complained. bungie could give you all literally every concieveable thing you could ever want and you'd STILL complain. if you dont like the game anymore then i have some advice go to your guardian select screen.. click delete . 3 times if you have three classes . then go to you games library or steam and click on the little button that says delete or uninstall. if your not willing to do that then shut up your opinion doesnt matter .

Prior to the release of EoF, some comments were made regarding elitism and it's inherent pitfalls for the PAYING community. Here we are! I almost feel that Bungie is hellbent on destroying what they have created.

If i "play at my own pace" I won't progress past the soft cap. Sometimes I just wanna slap a build on and mindlessly run around the cosmodrome or run public events in the dreaming city. None of this will level me like if I were to run solo ops over and over and over... We have all these destinations yet im level selecting via a portal just to get good loot
