I can't remember if you need matchgame for a guardian rank challenge. If not, why use the matchgame modifier if you're struggling with it? If you need to use that mod simply match your damage with the shields you're trying to break. If the enemy has arc shields use an arc weapon. Or.... you can use techsec armour. 2 pieces gives kinetic weapons significantly more damage to elemental shields. Or the kinetic exotic linear fusion rifle. It's a featured weapon this season.

If you have Hard Light, it can break all shield types if it's the shields you're struggling with
