I wanna use my old weapons without being punished for it
The game is so boring and restrictive now.

2 RepliesAnd if you didn't fork out for the expansion, the Free stuff, apart from the Area GL, is all rubbish. But you get penalised for playing with your old stuff, especially in Crucible.

I personally wouldn't mind if they just removed the score bonuses for using new gear. The damage/dr buffs aren't super noticeable especially if you aren't using higher tiered loot. The volatile mods are super cool and we had similar mods last season. Out of the hundreds of missions I've done since the dlc dropped, I've only used avant guard less than 10 times including all conquests and multiple cutting edge games. There's just no reason to pick it in custom modifiers when equipment lock gives double the multiplier and is less restrictive. As far as I'm aware it never shows up in matchmade activities either. Also I genuinely wouldn't lose sleep if they removed the featured gear system entirely tho. Clearly a large amount of players dislike it including cc's

However if you want to get the best grade then you may need to make use of featured gear for the bonus multiplier. If you are below 400 and would rather use old gear when leveling you can. You can still level but won't get +3 or +4 gear, you'll only get +1 or +2 gear. A bit slower bu t you still progress and get to use what gear you want. If you want to progress as fast as possible then do what's required to achieve your goal.

17 RepliesFun fact, you're 100% allowed to use old gear. A single modifier that only exists inside conquests, is not a valid argument for why you "can't use old gear".

13 RepliesI think the point is being lost to some on this post. The point isn’t that the weapons are unable to be used at all, which of course isn’t true, but the fact that you are punished for using old weapons. Your total score isn’t as high as it could be, as well as you are unable to participate in the Avant Garde modifier. Regardless, I’d love to use old weapons, however once the solar sword comes out with Eager Edge, I won’t necessarily have a need for any non-featured gear.
