I’ve been a long-time Trials player I remember the thrill of going flawless, the tension of each match, and the satisfaction of reaching the Lighthouse to claim those coveted Adept weapons. That feeling used to be electric.
But after completing the power grind this season, I jumped into Trials on my Hunter and… stopped. Why? Because the reward structure no longer feels worth the effort.
Here’s the issue:
• The loot from the Lighthouse is one time only no incentive to keep pushing flawless runs.
• The trials weapons you earn aren’t even guaranteed Tier 4 or 5 unless your Guardian Rank and Light Level are high enough.
• That means you can go through the gauntlet of Trials, sweat through intense matches, and still walk away with gear that won’t help you in higher-end content.
It’s disheartening. Trials used to be a pinnacle PvP experience with meaningful rewards. Now, it feels like a flashy detour with no lasting value especially for players who’ve already done the grind.
Suggestion:
If Trials weapons are going to be tied to Guardian Rank and Light Level, then either:
• Make Lighthouse loot repeatable and scalable, or
• Ensure that flawless runs guarantee Tier 4+ drops, regardless of current rank
Otherwise, Trials risks becoming a once & done activity for many of us and that’s a shame for something that used to be the crown jewel of Destiny PvP. Would love to see this addressed. Trials deserves better.

It would be better to entirely decouple rewards and Power Level. Rewards should be based on the difficulty of the activity, not the random number that goes up by just by playing.
