Hey Bungie team and fellow Guardians,
I wanted to share a few thoughts on how we could breathe new life into some of Destiny 2’s most beloved legacy content while aligning it with the current systems that make endgame grinding feel rewarding and worthwhile.
Proposal 1: Integrate Old Dungeons into the Portal Activities
The dungeon rotation system has been a great way to keep content fresh, but older dungeons like Pit of Heresy, Prophecy, and Grasp of Avarice deserve more visibility and accessibility. Moving these into the Portal Activities would:
• Make them easier to access for newer players
• Encourage replayability with weekly incentives
• Reinforce their relevance in the current sandbox
These dungeons are still incredibly fun and mechanically rich they shouldn’t be left behind.
Proposal 2: Upgrade Old Raid Weapons to Match the New Tiered System
Red border weapons from legacy raids (e.g., Vault of Glass, Deep Stone Crypt, Vow of the Disciple) should be eligible for enhancement of barrels and magazines, just like weapons from newer content. To maintain balance and reward investment:
• Enhancements should cost Spoils of Conquest and Ascendant Alloy
• This gives players a meaningful reason to regrind older raids
• It preserves the prestige of raid weapons while modernizing their utility
This change would not only honor the time and effort players have already put into these raids, but also make them viable in today’s meta without overshadowing newer gear.
Why This Matters
Destiny 2 thrives on variety and replayability. By upgrading legacy content and aligning it with current systems, we:
• Respect the legacy of iconic encounters
• Incentivize engagement across the full breadth of Destiny’s offerings
• Create a more unified and rewarding endgame loop
Thanks for considering these ideas I truly believe they’d enhance the overall quality of life for all Guardians. Eyes up, and see you in the Portal.
Proposal 1: Integrate Old Dungeons into the Portal Activities
Per the TWID posted July 24th, “Dungeon Content” is being added to the Portal with the launch of Ash & Iron in September. It remains to be seen how many and which Dungeons will be first up in the Portal, as well as whether they will feature updated versions of their current loot tables. (΄◉◞౪◟◉`)
