The skill based matchmaking in Destiny 1 made trials and regular crucible 1000% times more enjoyable. Destiny 2 isn't fun and pvp has always been bad its impossible to have any fun playing this terrible game when the only people who play have 200× flawlesses and 2.0+kds. It's a joke to even have pvp at this point. When the game was launching they said they wanted it to be closer to a actual competitive shooter and its the furthest thing from a competitive game now.

Control has to be the worst cod level matchmaking I've ever experienced. Nobody will ever convince me it's not predetermined outcomes. I study patterns and trends, everytime you pop off, it'll be followed by a string of obvious predetermined losses. Joining in progress, stacked teams vs new players, it honestly shouldn't be allowed. Play cutting edge, its better

Seems like you're misremembering how matchmaking worked in D1, but either way, stricter SBMM is NOT the way to get more people into PvP, or to make it more enjoyable for the ones already there.

Edited by Golden: 8/13/2025 12:05:46 AMDunno man “matchmaking prefers to avoid players with widely disparate skills” in control sounds like a form of SBMM to me 👍 Also trials never had Skill based matchmaking 🙏

Strict sbmm will lead to longer queue times & every match for higher tier players will be sweaty

Sounds like PvP in d2 isn't your thing. It's not mine so I rarely play it. Last 2 days I've played more PvP than the last 2 years combined. Maybe if you don't enjoy it simple stay out of PvP and play what you enjoy. It's a joke for you to play PvP if this is how you feel. Not everyone is the same champ.

My man d2 has Fireteam prevention and sbmm, not cbmm

😂😂😑 Destiny 1 had no sbmm. Trials should never be sbmm, especially if we are using a potato to potato connection. I rather not play Oceania servers where mag dumping a guy becomes the regular due to lag. Only because you want to feel good about yourself

Edited by atlus25: 8/12/2025 11:54:29 PMYou are right why people don't want skill based matchmaking. Anybody in the comments saying otherwise are the sweatys I've been talking about that don't want to have to work for their loot. They can only have fun if they're fighting people who can't actually put up a fight.

Funny you say that because "Destiny 1's matchmaking evolved from a system that heavily favored skill-based matching to one that prioritizes connection, aiming to balance fair matches with reasonable matchmaking times and a more enjoyable experience for the wider player base". I never had a "super tryhard 3 KD" in any regular crucible game I've played. Check your games too : in your last pvp game you faced pretty much players that are worse than you (0.x kds) . So I dont get your point . You want a "system" change so you can face players on your level (or better) more often or go against 0.x kd players -that you are pretty much facing now- . Btw Trials in D1 was a mix of "Cbmm" and "Wins in the card". Never had any kind of "sbmm".
