Solo ops were actually relaxing and fun until the master tier difficulty started locking all the new event loot behind endless slogs of champions and intense modifies that make everything 2-3 shot you meanwhile it takes ages to clear a single room filled with nearly endless spawning enemies.
Who TF is play testing bungie games? I don’t give a crap what streamers think or what famous streamers want?
At what point is any of this loot, including tier 5 even worth it if you will always be F’ed by every enemy in the game at the “streamer paradise endgame”.
Stop making difficulty a bragging rights challenge, I don’t need twitch donations or the illusion of skill by wasting 20 minutes of my time on a single master solo op or 30-40 minutes on a single fireteam match made master op.
If I want to play a difficult game I’ll go find something like elden ring or dark souls 3, destiny is not that game. I don’t want a blood pressure raising experience 24/7 outside of raids and some dungeons.
I don’t give a crap if streamers get bored and nobody is impressed with them playing content that’s “too easy”. They can play other games or get real jobs like everyone else. They will disappear and be forgotten in a matter of time, they are not Keanu reeves or Leanardo di caprio. No one cares that much about these players. To the people who genuinely do, the people who would rather watch a streamer give updates on destiny news or livestream raid or PvP content than watch an actual new movie or show or anything else then I’m genuinely concerned for their well being.
You’re really pushing me bungie to stop playing until a new dlc drops and hopefully all this crap is long in the past. You’re sucking out all the interest I have left in this game by creating a game so annoyingly hard it’s no longer fun, since the “fun” doesn’t end. You just keep reloading the same missions to grind power.
It’s bad, very bad when pinnacle ops are more relaxing and easier than fireteam and solo ops of the same difficulty.
If I wanted the entire game to feel like a freaking day 1 raid, I’d just ask for it. But if it takes me quitting Destiny 2 to show how little I like this crap, then so be it.
Keep listening to your paid and sponsored streamers who operate in an echo chamber and prioritize content they can make money off of and or brag about beating to generate views and ad revenue.
You’re ruining this game bungie, the armor 3.0 just about saved this game. The new guns just about saved this game, but reaching this new threshold of “master” difficulty makes me lose all hope and lose all desire to keep playing if everything from here on out will just be a automatic day 1 raid experience from now until the end of time.
To whomever disagrees and thinks the game needs to be even harder, that they prefer this new “master” aka grandmaster 2.0 difficulty mode, then please go get help. Get therapy. Your family wants to see you leave your room. Your friends haven’t seen you in weeks and you should probably leave your house

Edited by Obelix: 8/10/2025 10:22:32 AM90% sure it’s a build issue. At 290 on your Warlock you should not struggle in Master solo ops. Even at 270 I could run Caldera before the timer runs out. Good news is it’s an easy fix, you don’t need to drop your life to live in the game. Just watch a couple build videos and : Shazam !

If you are doing a solo ops on any difficulty and it is rising you 30 minutes, I genuinely don’t know what to tell you.

You clearly don't understand how to manipulate the portal and it's modifiers. I'm sure there is a tutorial out there from some content creator if you can't figure it out. Utilize the modifiers which bump your reward multiplier w/o adjusting the enemy delta beyond what is easy for you to clear.

Yah it’s crazy. 30 power under to get an A rating. Crucible scorning makes no sense. Play obj? Kd? I won a comp match with an A+ rating and didn’t get a solemn remembrance.

Edited by Raijinmeister: 8/10/2025 6:01:50 AMYep, it sucks. Even clearing stuff in a few minutes feels like crap because now it's a constant Zero Hour pressure. Gotta get to the finish line in time, or you will get nothing. Matchmaking is no longer about relaxing and just killing mobs; it's all about doing GMs with randoms, and many times they are not prepared, and the whole thing becomes a bloody mess, with all the AoE vomit these modifiers throw at you. Even when you don't end up dying a ton of times because you exploded the whole map and now the floor is covered in screebs, you will not get the damn B+ or A grade because people are rushing and skipping a ton of mobs as if the game still was like before, when you simply had to kill all champs to get platinum and then the best possible loot.

As an experiment, and not really wanting to do Master anything, I put in lower level gear and weapons, to drop my LL…🤔 Well, it didn’t! 😁 Am currently around LL310 / GR7 - and that’s about as far as I want to go. My H / W / T are all thereabouts now, only the Seal to complete, H’s lustrous armour + run the campaign (normal)…then, W and T will probably do the final campaign mission…or not. 🫤 Solstice was a step in the right direction, imho. That is all. Ease Springs! 🖖

I have to disagree with this one. I can understand your frustration but it doesn't take that long to run master difficulty in both solo and fireteam ops. And that's coming from a casual solo player. Also are you even at the required light level? Master difficulty unlocks BEFORE reaching 300 and if you're using difficulty modifiers to up your score you're only making it extremely difficult on yourself without it needing to be.

Solo ops is so ridiculously easy. GM my -blam!- xD Caldera or k1 in 4-5 minutes without a sword and boring af

KingOfMirroryou make some valid points and I agree that eververse needs to be removed from the game. But Whether we wanted it or not, we’ve stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let’s get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta’aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

Once you hit the unlock threshold it automatically changes to the next Tier. If it's too hard at that moment for you, stay in the previous Tier to grind like 10-20 more points.
-
You dont need to kill everything to get an A in solo ops. You just need to do the main objectives and even the challenge. Also, Grandmaster solo ops are extremely easy to do and get through in a decent amount of time. If you're struggling in master then you're doing something wrong. Be it standing out in the open, running a poor build, or just ignoring enemies that are clearly going to kill you.
-
Just interjecting that solo ops don’t require you to kill champions at all, ever and if it takes more than idk 8mins max you are doing something wrong

Edited by Ray: 8/9/2025 4:43:23 PMWhen possible just skip all the champs brother. But yea, the higher you get the more of a slog/nuisance these activities become due to it getting tougher to get that A grade

Edited by LikwiD_SmOkE22: 8/9/2025 7:14:48 PMThe rotating Playlist ops are the only ones with the ridiculous modifiers. If you choose the one & done missions all you need is a locked loadout to get max rewards. Most important of all is your score isnt tied to killing the champions. You can skip them.
