As a disabled gamer, playing on the standard joystick configuration is difficult. I have to use the legacy joystick layout to make playing comfortable. For those that don't know what that is, it swaps only the x-axis on both joysticks. So, left stick moves you forward/backwards and your head left/right while the right stick strafes left/right and moves your head up/down. It's strange but it's the only thing that is comfortable to use.
Since D1 launch, the legacy option has been bugged. When strafing left/right using the right joystick, there is a massive dead zone to move your head up/down. Instead of a smooth movement, at some point while moving the right joystick up it snaps going from 0 to 100, essentially making aiming impossible while strafing.
For years, I have had my controller modified to swap the joysticks x-axis on the PCB to overcome this. And it works fantastically, or at least it has. My control is now broken and the guy that used to do the modification is no longer available.
Bungie, please look into this. I'm begging you.

Sorry to hear the change in controller guardian. Hope Bungie addresses this.
