It’s not hard imaging why this game and the pvp just can’t keep retention. Who tests and green lights this mess. Every game is over before it even starts.
I seriously just don’t get what is so hard about not mixing up the teams to where it’s one sided.
And then god forbid I win one match and then you split my team up but then go ahead and let me match multiple times with the same people when I lose terribly.
Just a pure mess.

It is hard to balance teams without strict SBMM in place. Let's assume that Bungie accurately tracks the skill of a player ON AVERAGE. A player's skill is not an absolute - it can vary based on A LOT of factors, including map, loadout, teammates, opponents, state of mind, hardware, internet connection, etc. Player # - "Bungie" Skill - "True" Skill For That Day Player 1 - 1000 - 800 Player 2 - 900 - 900 Player 3 - 800 - 800 Player 4 - 700 - 700 Player 5 - 600 - 600 Player 6 - 500 - 500 If we balance based on Bungie's skill, then we get: Team 1: Players 1, 4, 6 Bungie Average Skill: 733 True Average Skill: 666 Team 2: Players 2, 3, 5 Bungie Average skill: 766 True Average skill: 766 Using this example, we can see that Team balancing varies a lot based on just 1 player playing off their rating. The skill difference tripled with just 1 player playing abnormally. Now think waht happens when you have multiple players playing abnormally.
