I watched a video yesterday regarding how the Solstice event is handing out "super rewards", i.e. tier 5 armour and weapons.
Great, I thought.
But then, the catch.....
IF you have hit level 400, IF you are at guardian rank 9, IF you are able to grind this game 12 hours a day, 7 days a week on an industrial scale......then there might be something to get excited about.
I'm currently sitting at power level 232, guardian rank 6 and I've played every day since this abomination launched.
There are some guardians who just cannot do this and it seems that Bungie are rubbing salt in the wounds of those who have families and full time work commitments.
When they said they would reward players for their playtime, they didn't say it only applied to streamers and the top few percentage of elites who play Destiny for a living.
It's like giving millionaires the winning lottery numbers AND paying for their tickets.

Isn't giving the people who play the most the best gear the epitome of rewarding the player for their time? And why in the world are you playing an "abomination" everyday? This sounds like the old "I want it all and I want it now" entitled whining. If you get the same rewards as someone who has slogged to 400 how is that rewarding their time? Shouldn't the playing itself be its own reward? I just don't comprehend the concept that getting a better drop on gear is the reason to play. And if you don't play as much as you want because you're busy paying the bills and taking care of your family then I salute your priorities. In game as in life - grinders get better stuff than casuals.
