Nothing to cheer about. BUNGO leadership is trash, but SONY is not all that better. They greenlit Concord, they are blindly chasing the billion-dollar games as service BS, and SONY has a terrible track record in recent years when it comes to respecting the foundation of their IPs, just need to check the sorry state of God of War. They absolutely tanked the potential for Helldivers 2 to be way more successful than it is with all the PSN account nonsense, among other stupid management decisions that should be, at least, a yellow flag to SONY taking over what is a sinking ship.

Many of us saw this coming 2 years ago when Bungie started missing revenue goals by 40%. It is about time, maybe, just maybe now D2 can start moving in a more positive direction. I hope Sony realizes how important the IP is, how big and varied the playerbase is and that destiny was meant to be a social game. Because right now it feels like Bungie doesn't. 🥴

Not in response to OP and I think EoF is terrible and turned all Guardians into beta testers, but the sentiment that a Sony takeover is good, is laughable. 1. Sony Walkman brand died because it couldn’t innovate. 2. Sony’s cellphone division died because it couldn’t innovate and keep up with advancing technology. 3. In the 70’s and 80’s Sony was the dominant electronics manufacturer in the world. It’s been forced into obsolescence in almost all product categories except one, its PlayStation brand. 4. Sony bought Bungie. Think about it. If Bungie is in the shambles that you believe it to be in, what does that say about the company that blindly bought the pile of excrement? Bungie is not the only underperforming acquisition that Sony has made. If Sony can’t even correctly identify a worthwhile asset to acquire, it sure as hell can’t create one or turn a ship around …. Sony isn’t saving anyone or anything. It’s barely saved itself in the last 30 years.

Bungie leadership still successfully drug this out long enough that they'll all qualify for their giant payouts, right? Convincing Sony that Bungie was worth 3.6 billion ([i]including $1.6 billion in retention payouts to executives![/i]) has to be one of the most successful cons in business history.

We still have to wait the end of Sony financial year which on March 31st to find out what's going to happen with Bungie
