The title could be the whole post, but I just wanted to rant: What got me to play Destiny 2 was the great combat, the looting and the shooting, ironically enough. Destiny 2 has some of the best hero moments in gaming, bar none, really great build crafting, tons of wonderful, action oriented stuff.
Then I go into a Dungeon or an Exotic Mission and it's like there's a Cyrillic Sudoku puzzle waiting for me or the game turns into Super Mario 64, sometimes both simultaneously, and it's like c'mon guys, throw me a bone. I'm not hunting for this ultra powerful godly weapon because I like crawling through osculating pylons that push me into chasms.
I'm trying to get my Guardian Rank up, and one of the requirements is doing a Pinnacle Op, and playing through puzzles is as grating as chewing on a rasp. I know this is what Destiny 2 is, I don't begrudge those who enjoy it, I'm just frustrated; I'm one of those people who never thinks to check for the hole in the floor, and Bungie really likes putting holes in the floor.
This was mostly a rant. Apologies to puzzle nuts, I hope I didn't offend. Anyway, I'm off to watch a video guide on how to do The Whisper, because that's a thing I do in Destiny now.

Edited by Obi-Juan: 8/7/2025 5:10:43 AMThe last dungeon I had to look up a guide and I have 0 shame. I'm not spending 10 hours trying to solve something that can be completed in 30 minutes. Some people thrive on not looking up guides, but not me. I know my limits. There has been dungeons i've solved blind, but I could tell Sundered Doctrine was beyond my personal capability. You made the right choice
