I'm not having fun playing Master level content. The modifiers ruin it. Ive had a strand titan for a couple days and it WAS doing fine.
Not today though.
Can't hit anything hard enough.
I can't 200 all my stats.
I can't even 200 one stat and then put 2 others at 100.
I can put 3 at roughly 100.
Which means I can't have my weapons topped out for crucible AND maintain an armor setup while leveling. It's not happening. The amount of management necessary would drain fun out of the game.
I spent 45 minutes just swapping out fragments on my warlock yesterday, I have no clue what the hell those things are supposed to do. The fragments for the light subclasses are just, like someone didn't really want to be at work that day. They're not always confusing, but they're confusing. I get an ability to increase my grenade regeneration but it lowers my grande stat.....which makes it regen slower...why am I being punished for being straight forward?
A decent fragment setup apparently should tank your stats so they can buff your stats.....
Unless you're running strand or stasis, then it's like someone "MADE" that.
I got stasis and strand and I almost immediately had a good setup going.
I have no idea what fragment setup people are supposed to make for a void hunter, it all just feels useless. Same for like any warlock.
What the hell, I can spend an hour just swapping out armor and subclasses on my warlock and it's not playing destiny as much as it is playing "Figure out how to play Destiny"
Which is what I didn't like about the first one.
I had Mars armor still when destiny 2 came out. Bc I couldn't figure out what was going on and everything was expensive like they thought everyone had a Tyler Durden living a double life grinding on Destiny for planetary materials
And it's getting like that again.
Don't even ask about Prismatic fragments.
Feels like scrolling through gibberish.
But, what I really wanted to say is that, I'm not happy with the "sweatiness" being the supposed bar for a good game.
I, personally, don't enjoy knowing I'm going to have to play, somehow at a casual level, Master level content, SOLO, to make progress.
I don't even know how I got my Titan through final shape, bc I can't figure out what the hell glyph touched even means or decipher what those symbols mean, or figure out which symbol I just picked up...before we all die for some reason .....forget it, nevermind, hold triangle, if it's that precious you can keep it.
I'm serious, if your game just wants to be difficult, every step of the way, why on God's green Earth would I want to make it part of my LEISURE TIME????
I don't care about my own shoes as much as some of these video games care about stopping you from making it to the next step in an "important quest"
That being said, I enjoyed Kepler.
But you all thought I wanted to be in the -blam!- Destiny player bracket.
No thank you
I want the casual game enjoyer bracket where I hit light level cap without contracting carpal tunnel syndrome or early onset arthritis.
I'm doing all this using only the blue marked gear so Avante Gars never bothers me.
So that's why it's kinda hard.

When running master content do not apply banes as a modifier. I would rather have the +20 elemental threat and 2 or 3 modifiers like Taken Epitaph or Chill Touch. Make sure you’re running locked load-out. Also, make sure you’re running the appropriate resist mods to counteract the +20 elemental threat. You can also get away with running a surge which if it aligns with your build/weapons should give them a nice little boost.

I do understand your pain. This game has gotten ever more complicated from the simplicity of D1’s class setup. My suggestion is simple. Whatever your favourite class is, Titan, Warlock, Hunter etc just google “best survivability build for Titan/Warlock/ Hunter in EoF” There are some great content creators that specifically post good builds. Mactics PlunderTheBooty Llama Divide Even old meme worthy Temu version of Shaw Han himself, Aztecross has some good builds. Personally I prefer Plunder and Divide as many of their builds are simple to use and effective at keeping you alive and tested in hard content. They almost always show you the gameplay loop too, so you know how to play it. Here’s one I use from iFrostbolt on my Titan https://youtu.be/h2sNiw2uHVk?si=SmP1zBwvFF2SyvJo Try using the new armor, especially two piece from Techset and Bushido together or 4 of each. Using Outbreak perfected and 4 pieces of Techset has been a good way of clearing adds with shields. I really hope this helps.

Destiny was always esoteric and difficult, but they upped the ante with the new update. For a company concerned with balance in their game, they couldn't be less concerned with people living a balanced life.

Hit 300 yesterday and entered Encore Master and let me tell you, the adds that spawn right behind you and the one shots really are not fun. The fun is dead.

Edited by ButterMyBiscu128: 8/6/2025 11:18:44 AMDo you want some help or advice on build crafting? It sounds like you're just lost. Idk if that's the only issue you're having but I can assure you light subclasses are strong.

Edited by Ferus Lux: 8/6/2025 10:54:10 PMYou only need 2 high stats tbh. You can be unkillable by spamming AoE finishers, devour, and the Third Iteration which pretty much always 1-2 shots red bars and even smaller yellow bar units to constantly trigger invisibility long enough to regen or get to new cover. Exotic Glaives are also amazing for solo players and can spam and abuse the Void bubble or Healing Turret easily while also causing AoE debuffs on kills.

I agree that the modifiers can ruin the fun, but I haven't got to the Master level content yet becuz I don't really care about the power cap my hunter is on 220 and I only play the....specialist difficulty? my game is on Portuguese, so some words are way too different.. either way, I don't feel like hitting the 300s cuz it's really boring and unfun. -
I'm at 330 or so now, I feel the difficulty spike now. On master I have to run so many modifiers to achieve A rank that it becomes very unfun to play. OK maybe I should be running GM now? No, they basically one shot me at GM at this level. So what's the answer? No Hud, locked loadout, No starting amo, 2 negative modifiers minimum, and zero boons. Yea, it's a challenge alright, and I clear, but it really isn't fun....

I am 402 and have not had any of these issues you’re having.

You guys are way too invested in these stats. I have never paid much attention...not Tier 12 in D1, no triple 100s before in D2...not a single stat even at 100 right now. Zero issues clearing Master. Im 315 and itching to move up to GM tier. Not sure what your having an issue with, damage or survivability, but your build makes a big difference. And just wearing the new armor for damage reduction is huge too.
