Cross save not working on Ps5

I connected my Xbox account to bungie (original account) I then linked my PlayStation to it. I made sure to check I was doing the right log in and everything worked without issue. But my characters never showed up. Do I have to eat a 90 day penalty because the system didn’t work? There literally can’t be any other account with that email on playstation so I don’t want people saying “are you sure it’s the right account”. I linked it to steam and everything was fine and my characters showed. Is it because I already created a character on my ps before linking? I’m at a loss and not having a support contact is ridiculous

Please note in case it turns out that you need to deactivate Cross Save, the 90-day cooldown following deactivation of Cross Save or any Silver purchases cannot be removed, reduced, or circumvented.
