And buff third iteration fire rate in PvP, it gets out gunned by everything at all ranges.
But pulse rifles are ruining PvP, especially outbreak perfected, redrix estoc and stars in shadow. At every range pulse rifles are killing in 2-3 bursts while every other weapon class cannot do the same.
Only at very close range phoneutria fera can achieve a faster kill, and the usual 1 shot shotguns which are once again making a resurgence.

Edited by Griever: 8/5/2025 5:19:33 PMFunny, because everyone's base resilience was increased to T10 (230), so the weapon stat has to be what's really going on here. But it barely affects the time to kill or even the crit/ body ratios of most if not every pulse rifle. At most, all it did aside from certain outliers like Last Thursday with Elemental Honing is either artificially extend the range or mess with the aforementioned ratio. * 340s still requires 6 crits to kill I believe. * Aggressive burst 450s still require almost if not 2 whole bursts to the head * 390s I believe are entirely dependent on damage perks for any changes now after they just nerfed the weapon stat from 6-5% * Lightweights still require 3 bursts minimum * And rapid fire pulses still require 3 bursts minimum as well As for Outbreak, funny how NO ONE complained about that ever as far as I remember until this season when it's a featured item (reward multiplier boost) and we gain a stat that effectively allows us to revert many damage nerfs throughout D2. Redrix has already been nerfed so much to the point it's barely more than just a stasis version of the BXR (may as well make it craftable), it's acquisition also now heavily limited. And Stars in Shadow (a 340) has one of if not the lowest AA of all pulse rifles. You're complaining over nothing. As for Third Iteration, it works like this in pvp BECAUSE the first shot is basically guaranteed to take out like half your health if it hits the head. The most they can do is tighten the spread of the shots or increase how quickly it charges. It doesn't need to be able to do 40-50+ damage after taking out like 118 in 1 shot, especially when it gives free invis (synergizing well with Gyrfalcons Hauberk) and the catalyst basically gives it Demoralize. While I would love for every weapon to be viable in pvp AND pve, this unfortunately is not the case. Want a few examples? * Jade Rabbit. Who the hell actively tries to use it's perk? All this thing has going for it is an AA of 60 whereas every other 150 has I around 30-40 tops. * Sunshot. Due to being a 150 hand cannon with explosive payload, it SHOULD be a king in pvp, but it's got 20-30 less AA than all other former 150s in the game, and there are definitely better sights/ models for gunfights. * Skyburner's Oath. Gets probably no usage beyond certain Proving Ground strikes. All it has going for it is 90 AA at this point, second only to Mida at 100. * Lord of Wolves. ADS is literally incapable of a 1 burst kill, and hip fire requires a minimum of 2 crits 3 body to kill a player. And hip fire is so unreliable I've literally shown it to a friend in a private match while standing so close to him his head was bigger than the reticle. 1 crit, 2 body, 2 misses against a stationary target that was practically kissing the barrel. I'm sorry, but I shouldn't have to manually control the recoil of any weapon at that range to get a kill nor should I have to be THAT accurate with a shotgun. * Last Word. The only thing this has going for it in PvE is that it was allowed to keep the bugged damage from a while ago that made it stronger than a buffed Ace. Otherwise, you need Lucky Pants to get any damage worth using in higher content. * Vigilance Wing. This thing was practically designed for trials, but all it's power is basically locked behind requiring your team to screw up, and it's beyond useless in PvE unless you're solo. But then, WHY would you use this over something like Bad Juju, Revision, or Outbreak in PvE???!!! * Osteo Striga. So long as this is a projectile weapon you can put strafe that blocks your vision for even 1/10 of a second every shot, this will never be viable in pvp. I could go on.
