I can see it now that the game will be officially done after you are done dripping the current expansion.
I predict that there isn’t another one after this year. If there is one it’ll be cancelled.
There won’t be another one is my prediction.
You know the state of the game is in a bad place if you do this… imagine there is no level grind, the content has all be released for the expansion (even the next mini expansion/ Star Wars stuff). Now while imagining that ask yourself How long would you continue paying and enjoying the actual content after you have everything unlocked. You have access to everything…
The game is terribly unbalanced when it comes to the core of what if is. This is a looter/ shooter. But in reality RIGHT NOW. It is 95% “looter” (the grind) and 5% shooter (actual play with the stuff you looted)
It needs to be more balanced.
To give you another example of what I mean by this is look at halo (old school halos). There is pretty much 0% looting about 100% shooter. But the content is there and you have everything unlocked. The game is fun in pve and pvp. This is the exact opposite of the current state of Destiny 2.
I’m typing this all out quickly because I’m on the toilet so I might not have put everything into words that makes sense but if you think about it maybe it’ll make sense. Lol
I think that you should just drop everything yall have planned for d2 and make d3 your main priority and focus.

D3 wouldn't be any better with bungie how it is plus destiny 2 isn't exactly making great money so they won't even consider a D3.
-
I would argue it's not even 95% Looter. I want to LOOT the tier 4 and 5 gear, that's not available until you hit 400, so its 75% a fake leveler" a time waster, you must be this tall to ride the ride, I can't chase loot until I commit 250 hours into Caldera Salt Mines... its a joke, a bad joke. Not FUN Even Solstice "EVENT" is people playing Caldera. SMH

Today is reset day and a new week in Destiny, what are the casuals going to cry about now?

D3 will take them awhile, they still require working capitol. EoF is basically the framework for a D2 vending machine. They have hundreds of missions they can easily adapt and stock the portal with, its easy, low maintenance and fairly cheap to run, they already know they have a base that will pay a premium even for leftovers. Expect the portal to start getting old campaign missions, season missions etc basically all recycled. I'd expect the content cadence to pick up now the foundations in just don't expect much 'new' content outside gear. I don't see them having anything worth buying for several years personally but each to thier own.

I wanted to add that the reason why I’m saying this is because I love d2 and have the best freaking memories in this game and I believe that we just need a course correction. And we can start fresh in D3.

I hear you, but D2 was never meant to be similar to Halo. At least not in the last few years. People usually clear the campaign in a couple days, and the main motivation to replay the game is to acquire better loot to create powerful build. And that’s really what it’s all about, now I agree the current grind and levelling is way out of touch with most players and need tweaking, but you were never meant to have access to everything on Day 1 gear wise. I said it many time, if you want to enjoy D2 you have to lean into build crafting. This makes the grind more enjoyable, and that really is the true end game. And it does not means having Tier 5 gear everywhere, in fact a good build with Tier 2 will do better than a shitty build with Tier 5.
