What brain trust came up with this garbage modifier??
How did that presentation go?
Let's take a game that we already force players to perform some pretty rigid jumping mechanics to succeed in and then make it completely impossible, because they won't ever be able to land where they need to.
Get rid of this trash already...😡😡🤦

Not sure if this is the mod that give credit for rank 6 progress or not. I just did an expert fireteam run and got credit. I thought I would need to rank to 270 before i could get that having to do master solo or something.

Oscillation and other garbage modifiers are still here. Bungie loves their bad ideas.
-
I like that there was multiple posts like this last week. One of them got 100+ upvotes. And Bungie is like “Nah the community loves this, let’s keep it in there”
-
And totally coincidentally it always comes in combination with Haste so you can't do nothing while the debuff timer runs down and you float in the air like a stupid idiot...
-
Agree this modifier needs to go. Or at least needs to be removed from quick play and only be available for people that want to custom choose it which would probably be nobody. I had this on fire team ops quick play and got liminality strike. I could not get the orb to put in the skull on the right side because it took so long to land and then jump to the platforms to get out of the room as it filled with lava but then on top of that when I did get to the top I only had a few seconds to get down to the skull to the posit it and could not fall to the ground fast enough. Another modifier that shouldn't ever be on quick play lists is the one that if your shields go down a teammate has to activate the debuff on you or you die because it makes it impossible for any solo play attempts for anything and they just love to remove matchmaking at the higher difficulties. Which that in itself is stupid it slowed down my leveling grind so much once I couldn't quickly get matchmade stuff for master content like I was for expert and once I unlocked master content it even removed the ability to get the match made expert content.

This isn’t like counterfeit , people were upset about that and they didn’t do anything so they won’t do anything about this . It’s actually infuriating and I won’t play the fireteam ops if it’s on which sucks because I really enjoy playing with others

Whoever came up with the idea for this modifier should be forced personally apologize to anyone they haven't driven from the game with their awful power grind.
-
Agree. This bs modifier... Holy... Remove it from the game pls!!!

Agree

You pretty much need Grapple Grenade to traverse some of the jumps in the content, too, especially if you're a Hunter as you get almost no height with a single jump. I had to jump multiple times just to get enough height to clear what is normally clearable in one, and woe be unto you if you overshoot your landing -- you'll feel like a Warlock who slowly drifts to an inevitable death. The modifier is supposed to come with the Grapple Grenade modifier for a reason. But guess which modifier they took out because it was letting people complete content "too fast"? Yup.

Edited by Stalkholm: 8/3/2025 3:36:11 PMI get what they were thinking: In-game gravity is a lever Bungie can pull to make for a more interesting experience, that's the thought that they were thinking. That said, one of Destiny 2's strongest assets has always been its movement and responsiveness, D2 has always been a game that feels good to play, it's a game that won me over with its fast paced hero moments, and low gravity throws that responsiveness out the window. Low gravity is novel, I'll give Bungie that, but it's also frustrating. The enemies, banes, and general difficulty of much of the content requires us to be fast on our feet, and Low grav slows that way, way down. It feels like driving over speed bumps and potholes on a race track, and most of the time I end up trying to avoid jumping altogether (which was maybe the point?) It's not a modifier that makes the game more fun to play, in my experience, Low grav removes one of D2's strongest assets, its responsiveness, and ends up making us slowly floating bullet magnets. If we had more control, or the enemies were less adept, maybe I'd have a different opinion, but right now Low grav is just frustrating most of the time. I get what Bungie was going for, I understand why they pulled that lever, it makes sense on paper, maybe it was even fun a time or two during play testing, but in practice it feels like slowly pulling teeth. Bungie: Maybe turn the effect down by half and see if the complaints don't go down by half, too. If you're set on having the mode in the game, tune it a little bit, try to find a sweeter spot between fun and frustrating. The idea isn't wholly without merit, assuming there's a commensurate reward for the modifier, but the execution needs some work.

It shouldn't be in MM. As a modifier for costum activities it sure has a place (of nodifiers i will never use).
-
I’ve died countless times due to drifting through the air like a skeet after being stomped into the air. It is so annoying.
-
Yes, make the jumps impossible.. ..also the mod should make movement painfully slow....and then give basic enemies the ability to do freeze damage...and then to top it all off, we'll make the whole thing a timed event!!!
-
First couple times I played with that mod, I didn't even know. I was like why f I'm floating out of the map. OMG so frustrating . I feel like youre running through mud and you are stuck on a every pebble..my lock on Glassway wouldn't jump the gaps. I would just face plant on the jumps and drop into the abyss..
-
It's absolutly horible.🤦
-
It has to go. It's miserable.

Should be instituted into PvP

It’s not an elevating experience, that’s for sure! Wheeeeeeee! 😉 That is all. Ease Springs! 🖖
