pathetic, its just pathetic
i genuinely wish nothing but the worst for the higher ups at bungie. i know the devs are genuinely doing their best, but the higher ups are just pathetic money hungry losers. how are you backed by a multi billion dollar company and unable to have an anti cheat. unable to let your devs balance the game. unable to hold q/a's with the community. how are you so painfully tone deaf. its genuinely sad.

I think poor leadership hires poor talent. They can’t make a compelling campaign or activities so they make everything bullet sponges. I have friends that asked me if it is worth buying and I told them absolutely not. The grind is not worth what you get. I’m hopeful that borderlands is good I need a good looter shooter to play.

4 RepliesYou give the devs too much credit, they are probably just as greedy and unimaginative as the higher ups. Our loot feels like an online casino game where you always lose and get trash, most of the story mode is anoying puzzles that nobody cares for, the content that actually gives decent loot is drowned in ridiculous extra dificulties of all kind... It doesn't even FEEL like destiny... The entire Bungie team is responsable for this unplayable, unenjoyable garbage. Let' just rename it "Bungie's gatcha/online casino/puzzlemania bullshit" instead.

Sorry to disagree, but the devs are the same people who did all the untested, broken junk. Devs are the ones who come up with all the poorly received ideas like the mater spark ball. Dev write the story. Devs designed the portal. Devs are the main force behind all the changes over the last few years that have cause the player numbers to plummet. No one can in good conscience can say simple things like the return to orbit not working are the result of a higher up at Bungie preventing a dev from doing their job. Yes I think the higher ups are money hungry. Yes I believe that affects their decisions. After 2 failing years in a row, I would imagine Sony is pushing them pretty hard just to get any return on their investment.

Ahhh the discontent continues. Do yourselves a favour. Find a new game to play. This isn't Destiny anymore. I've had some buddies be like "Oh you'll be back"..........uhhhh no. No I won't. I miss what the game used to be and managed to slug it out through the entire Final Shape Year. Bungie hid a lot from it's playerbase an gave out very little information for this particular expansion. Now you know why...........take what this mess is......and imagine it worse. That's the future now for D2.

They are as much to blame for the steaming dog egg that this game is. Do you think board members spent their time designing the Seive ?? .. or the veritable festival of mediocre played to death rubbish that is the Portal ?? .. Does Pete Parsons spend his days deciding that yes, five year old Empire Hunts that are basically Beyond Light campaign steps, are what people want to play over and over and over ??

Those that design the systems, the economy and the grind RNG numbers are either massively incompetent, non-gamers, sadists or under instructions to do this to the game from the higher ups. This DLC has obviously not been tested rigorously by and for the average semi-skilled D2 gamer that plays on console. It’s all been overly tuned to the best players that are on PC.

I often wonder how much additional development some of you need upstairs on the top floor that definitely ain't a penthouse suite.

The higher ups are only making business decisions, based on some devs, plan for the game and the future. It's the devs that are coming up with all the crap we are experiencing. The spaghetti code we are witnessing on a daily basis. Devs. Same as the portal, repeated gameplay and in game economy. Sure the higher ups are to blame as well. They must be able to tell that the product is not doing very well. But i would be surprised if they game at all.. just like with the devs. I dont think they are true gamers like that, they are just programmers.

I mean yea the higher ups are doing terribly but why is the community always so insanely defensive and protective for the devs as a collective? Higher ups decide fundamental things like monetization strats etc., yes. But the general execution is made by devs. The art team is doing great. Outside of that? The gameplay team, the UI/Portal team, the seasonal team, the campaign team, the raid team, the rewards team, the difficulty team, the content team, etc. etc. are all doing nothing but bad decisions against the overwhealmingly massive majority of their playerbase. Pete obviously didn't make the decision to put in 20 layers of mindless rng grind to make players fall asleep playing for longer than 15 minutes. He gave the general direction of the ongoing development and monetization strategies. The current devs executed this miserable gameplay. To sum it up, imo its time for an entirely new developer taking on the steering wheel for the destiny franchise. The Bungie we knew and loved is long gone.

I would genuinely rather play shadowkeep or nightfall than this garbage, they are trying more and more to “balance” this game and it doesn’t work people want to feel strong people want to be able to grind out a set of gear that makes high end content a cakewalk that’s the entire power fantasy, if I want to throw a grenade and wipe out an entire GM room yes I should need to grind but I SHOULD be able to get there, I genuinely regret preordering so much ever since EOF launched it’s been nothing but issues my name change token was used WITHOUT changing my name, the sprint bugs, the portal, the lies about abilities, THE PORTAL, stealth nerfs, the new stat system, PORTAL, like just all around this is so stupid I don’t want the stupid “Dodge anywhere and get your melee” like yeah it’s cool but just leads to more ability spam, the higher ups genuinely have no clue what they’re doing, next they are gonna start selling name change tokens for 70 bucks each so Pete can get a new car

The devs seem to only do the most necessary things, beside dyeing their hair and trimming beards. Even those necessary things don't work very well.

The devs "doing their best"? How quickly people forget that the moment Activision broke from Bungie, the game dropped into a hole it never truly recovered from solely due to Bungie's complacency and unwillingness to put in the time/effort to maintain what they had. Take their own declaration of "the bosses don't listen to us" statements with a huge grain of salt; these people legitimately believe that the game is fine despite the feedback speedbump.
