It is becoming clear why the vault space update has been delayed.
I mean, when you're making all existing gear bottom tier and lowest possible power AND then making the cost to upgrade it to usable level so prohibitively high... this is Red War vault nuke levels of cost.
Upgrade cost for me is getting to the point that this has effectively sunset my entire vault as I'm not sure I can be bothered to level anything up as it's objectively worse than new tier gear, and 'new' bonus system.
I miss upgrade modules - they weren't perfect but at least you could at a sensible rate choose to use the gear you actually wanted to use in endgame activites.
Right now we're being railroaded into only using 'new' gear and grinding a very small subset of content as the only sane upgrade price is when using higher power of the identical gear to upgrade - ie. there are NO sources of cheap upgrades for any non-new gear.

Edited by trontor: 8/2/2025 9:29:48 AMThe problem with using new gear is also similar to the situation after the sun setting debacle: There are [b]not[/b] enough new weapons. There are so many archetypes that you cannot get with [i]New Gear[/i] blessing like 140 RPM Hand Cannons or Heavy Burst Pulse Rifles. And if you want a particular weapon type with the right element you are completely out of luck.

It’s almost like a soft sun setting our old stuffs and hoping we would eventually delete some of it. And I have been deleting some extras/ not very useful weapons and sometimes exotics that I’m not using (too costly to upgrade right now).

Worst part is - and I've seen very little talk about this - is not only do we lose the bonus power by next not a season, but also any unstable cores we may have. We can't even stockpile them. Factor in the calculations people have made just to get one full build up to max power... I'd literally rather have actual artifact power back. This is stupid. I have only just hit 200 (was busy when the Encore exploit was a thing, and have to balance a job still even now I'm less busy in work) and I'm not looking forward to the mats I'm gonna have to spend.
