On PS5, I have been experiencing constant Baboon and Weasel errors (network connection issues) any time I tried to play in the last ~18 hours. No issues before that.
There doesn't seem to be any issues with my internet or even my PlayStation. For example, I was talking on Discord through the PlayStation while Destiny disconnected me with a weasel error.
I have:
- restarted my modem
- switched from ethernet, to wi-fi, and back again
- checked my ISP for known outages. None reported
- checked the PSN for known outages. None
- checked Bungie for known outages. None
- cleared the PS5 cache
- left the PS5 off and unplugged for several hours
- checked speed on PS5 and on a computer connected to the same internet. 95/5 and 90/10 Mbps respectively
- and finally, checked for ping spikes with an online tool. I had spikes of up to 150 ms with an average around 35 ms.
Could these ping spikes be causing my disconnections and errors? If so, how can I fix this.
If not, can anyone thinks of anything else to try?
Many thanks

Edited by BNGHelp3: 8/1/2025 1:31:01 PMHi there, Thanks for reaching out. Baboon and Weasel errors are indeed indicative of network issues, even if your connection seems fine at a glance. These issues can be caused by problems affecting your specific network, packet loss, or greater issues affecting your ISP which are being passed on to you. To that point, we recommend consulting our Network Troubleshooting Guide to explore potential solutions. If that doesn't help, the next step would be checking our Optimizing Connections page. Following that, if issues still persist, we would recommend reaching back out to your ISP for more hands-on assistance in troubleshooting your network setup.

Have now also changed ethernet cable and reset the modem to factory settings. Still can't get through a crucible match.
