Spending Arms Week Combat Telemetry - Potential Room for Improvement
Currently, spending Combat Telemetry with Ada for Arms Week feels less rewarding than it could. Spending 25 on an Engram just to USE that Engram on a weapon, a purchase that also requires 25-35 Combat Telemetry, seems convoluted and needlessly conciliatory (especially considering that Engrams don't normally work like this - sure, in seasonal content, to focus weapons one needed to spend a currency with an amount of Engrams, but in that case it was Glimmer).
Perhaps a better system would be to forego the Engram requirement and list the full cost for a focused weapon up front - 60 for Phoneutria Fera or 50 for a different hand cannon (or whatever weapons are featured). If players MUST use Engrams to preserve familiar systems of focusing gear, then either the Combat Telemetry cost should be reduced or the additional required currency should be Glimmer. In the current system, it feels less than ideal.
Or, maybe the system feels less than ideal because OPENING the engram at Ada requires Combat Telemetry regardless of focusing. One can open it for free at Rahool, but this isn't pointed out or made clear at any point. It almost feels as though the system is rubbing up against the old seasonal focusing model, in which one could EARN engrams instead of having to buy them.
Thanks!
