Isn't crucible even harder to balance if some people have extra percentage to their weapons damage than others? I mean, I get the want for it, but it's just not fair in pvp at all imo.
Imagine all those people who can get raids and dungeons done easily, compared to all those that can't. All of those who can afford to buy the edge of fate, and those that can't.
If I wanted to maximise player numbers, I wouldn't gatekeep the best weapon damage for only those that have the means to get them, its just not fair.
It's just my opinion but I'd like to see the weapon stat removed completely, especially for pvp.

I can do all that stuff, but I'm on the side of your stats. should have never affected anything more than your cool downs in any pvp related activities. It would've made a lot of crucible issues less prominent
-
I see where you're coming from. I think I like it tho. Because it's not like some people are just getting free extra damage, they have to build into it with more stat points, which means less stat points in other places. It's a give and take. If you want to do more damage in PVP, put your points into weapons. If you want your class back sooner, you get the idea. Not saying your invalid, just that I kinda like that a person can be more dangerous, but in the glass cannon kind of way. - just a side note, what I've seen on various spreadsheets so far, is that very few weapons actually shift TTK with 200 weapon stat. Mostly just adds forgiveness. Well see soon enough how it plays out. If there is a way to make a certain weapon broken, people will exploit it and it will come to light.

I got 200 weapon stat without high tier gear and it was easy just put the mod on your ghost. All my gear is from PvP no raid or dungeon. It was not difficult to achieve at all. You just don’t like change and will complain about anything. It is fun and new, it allows them to reward high investment into weapons instead of ability cooldowns. For years everyone has complained about ability spam. Bungie has this creative solution to the problem and still you complain.

It's crazy....for example around 130-140 fusion rifles are merciless, your aim does not need to be perfect, it melts...kill garanty. If you have a full 200 weapons stat, 340 pulse rifles are two bursting you easily. Played against those -blam!-.... Weapons stat in pvp needs to be disabled.
-
Things that shouldn't exist in PVP: -Weapons stat -Health stat -DR outside of super -Walls of any kind (truesight) -Invincible frames of any kind START there if you want a somewhat balanced and workable sandbox to mess with.
-
I think we need it for PVE, but it should be hard-set at 100 for everyone in PVP.
-
I'd like to see out of both eyes but that ship has sailed. Life ain't fair and neither is the Crucible. You gonna wear an eyepatch to cover one eye cuz that's all I got? I'm talking to you sonny! Git gud or die. Don't worry... you'll rez soon enough.
-
The big problem with PVP is still cheating, and nothing being done about it. It's not the weapons stat.
-
It's the best excuse and covering for bad hit registration and lag. Now they just say: "Oh, that other player probably got Weapons 250". And when you come with proof that his Weapons are only 90, they it's suddenly a skill issue or lag.
-
Weapon stat should stay. If Health stat is allowed to be a thing in PvP, so should Weapon stat. Or, remove both of them. It’s either both or neither.
-
They will disable it after 2-3 months of foolish attempts with targeted adjustments. Just need to stay the course with the feedback & low concurrent player population.
-
They probably thought it would be akin to resilience, but none of the guns have been balanced around adding damage, but the player gaining a small amount of health points. This also doesn't feel great for players because its a loss of control over the ttk and puts it in the opponents hands with 0 counter. They should just make the extra shields from health affect pvp if they wanna keep the damage boost.
-
I think weapon stat is fine because sure it boost handling and reload but I don't think it should grant a damage buff in pvp. PVE buff is fine as is
-
I've read these comments and I respect the decision to focus on weapons instead of powers, but I also like having at least the class ability ready to use whenever I need it, so I can't say I agree 100% with that either and I don't play pvp cuz the pvp is absolute buns, but having it hard-set at 100 like the other comment said is probably the best solution tbh idk if bungie will ever refine this new stat system, or bring back the old one... whatever happens, I'm super curious to see the outcome! unless it's a bad one, then I'll cry myself to sleep..
-
Waaaahhhh I can’t afford the game can you just give me the loot anyways that’s all I hear like come on your crying you can’t get weapons becuase you didn’t buy edge of fate
-
yes weapons in crucible is -blam!- dumb

I've been saying this from the start and will continue saying it: completely seperate PVE from PVP any guns or exotics nerfed or buffed in PVE will be separately nerfed or buffed in PVP we lose so many great things in PVE solely because it gives players an unfair advantage in PVP I don't want to hear game design is hard or that's too complicated. other games do this and bungie can too if they have any hope of keeping this game alive more than 80-90% of the entire player base plays PVE so why are we consistently nerfing things over and over to pander to the 10%? make it make sense!
-
I, quite frankly, don't care about pvp. You can make any argument you want for pvp. A high weapons stat in pve gives you more ammo drops. There is no reason Not to run at high of a weapons stat as your build allows in pve. With the right build, you can literally primary secondary ammo weapons. I like that. Leave pve out of your pvp complaints.
-
Any damage stat that can be influenced by a player will cause this problem. Weapons, Grenade, Melee, even Super in some PvE cases is going to make balancing things a nightmare for a team that already was bad at balancing things. You essentially just have to assume a certain "boosted value" and that will punish everyone below, and even some above, that line. This, of course, makes the stat pointless as anything but a "stat tax" required to engage in relevant content. Did you really think Bungie thought anything about this expansion through beyond all the reassurances that it was going to "increase gametime metrics"? Because I don't.
-
It's so easy to get a 200 weapon stat and so worth it if you focus more on your weapons than your powers.
-
The way I see it, we should have either the weapon stat and no surge mods or no weapon stat and surge mods.
