Seriously, how out of touch did you have to be to think this would appeal to both your long term players and the new ones you want to attract? To make an expansion that's so tediously repetitive with a snail's pace progression and niggling in desirable rewards during that long, long slog? And, Kepler? A destination so ugly and uninviting?
Are you actively trying to kill your game?

Some of the greatest expansions (Dreaming City) have had massively open spaces, with broad and sweeping sky boxes to be admired and even just hang out in (Titan). This one is super cramped, and the environment is junky and unpolished, and ..what skybox? The biggest open area we got was the final boss area where you have to jump down the junk piles to the little island, and sail back to it in ball form from the ketch. Where are the open spaces? Right now we have dumb matterball puzzles just to get thru a door literally 1ft away, and all of the moveable spaces are narrow corridors lined with piles of the most random junk. Why can't the environments be pretty again?

They know once you hit 300 power level most players will not play the game .They rig it so you have to run trash modifiers making the game unplayable or not worth the effort for a plus 1 . or be stuck running garbage exotic missions millions of times. poor design and poor management is why the game has been trashed. like there blaming us for the marathon failure . when nobody from destiny was that interested in it in the first place . the game sucks really bad now and bungie knows it.
-
Yea I think they are trying to kill it. Not sure why as of yet but it’s the only logical explanation. Maybe they want Sony to take over?
-
The casuals are having the worst time of all. They have to actually play the game to get anything out of it. What a dumb concept. Stay filthy causals.
-
When the content creators come in with the glaze from Krispy creme and no objective feedback.
-
i'm fairly certain scumgie doesn't have a planning process they just chuck Sh!t at a wall and choose whatever sticks
-
I hate it. Seriously hate it. I play games for fun. Repeating boring stuff over and over for hour after hour isn’t for me. Apart from the fact that I just do not have the time, I wouldn’t do it even if I had all day every day free.
-
They do seem to hate the game they work on... Puzzles after puzzles, i want to shoot stuff not play candy-crush meets slow mistery games... And all this nonsense of unlimited overbearing chalenges just to maybe get 1 piece of decent loot once in a blue moon is not a good incentive... Nobody likes invicible-psychic-dodge expert-exploding-AoE damage enemies all over the damn map, i mean FFS sometimes i can't even tell what's going on with all the flashy effects and animations filling every inch of the damn screen!
-
All they care about is play time, it's obvious enjoyment has never factored into their decision making process.

Edited by Mark, Scholar of Stars: 8/1/2025 11:28:38 PMI like the design of Kepler. Edit: But my favorite location is still the Dreaming City. It's majestic. And Bungie's magnum opus.
-
Just remember that someone suggested these ideas. These aren’t all Dev ideas… you also have fans, content creators, redditors, and the like all tossing ideas. Also remember that DMG is back at bungie and he exclusively listens to Content Creators.
-
Bungie has and always will view leveling as a main source of "content" for this game, and it will be one of the many reasons why players stop playing this game. When you have players "grinding" for higher levels, aka progression, they are supposed to feel more powerful as their.
-
See, the problem is actually the players that are unwilling to put in a casual 40 hours a week to grind their power level 🤣. I think I’m close to that bench mark but I wasn’t grinding power level so I still get garbage rewards. People are too impatient and unwilling to play the long game and only have a couple weeks to get rng victimized before the power levels change again. Who wants months to be able to get good armor sets when you could just have a few days?

I mean a ton of people are complaining, yet they still purchase everything time after time, basically enabling bungie to carry on making this game rubbish. A major boycott was needed to really make them wake up, but I doubt people actually have the stomach for a real fight. No, they just complain on here.

Oh come on. Even if Bungie tried to kill their game they are so incompetent it would end up as the greatest game in history. "Never attribute to malice that which can adequately be explained by stupidity" .. Hanlons Razor. I watched the Dev interviews before this junk launched. Most of them looked like their families were being he'd at gunpoint off stage. Not even they believed in it. We have had ten years of this company being so useless that they shoot themselves in both feet. This is the company that created Nimbus, a character that makes Jar Jar Binks look like a well rounded character, and thought that people would really like him. I can't watch that female Narrative Director for more than two minutes before my teeth start to itch. Bungie are just rubbish at making games. They have one game, one, and they are slowly kicking that to death. Marathon has been chinned off until whenever, probably until they can work out how to steal artwork properly. Bungie are a cautionary tale right now. Sony need to come in and sort the game out. But they won't. Destiny is about to be flushed because of incompetence. Not stupidity

As long as Aztecross is happy I doubt the Bungie team is going to care about the outcome

Lol yeah the color scheme and aesthetics on Kepler makes it look like a landfill. A planetary garbage dump. Same with the Tangled Shore. The Dreaming City is probably the most visually pleasing destination. I always thought the EDZ/Cosmodrome and Venus in D1 were pretty well designed too, but yeah Kepler ain’t it.
-
The plan was and is to ruin this game so MARATHON can be relevant, coming in for the save.
-
I'm really starting to think that Bungie has some insight on the whole UFO phenomenon. There are subtle hints in the EoF story and they're seemingly running their studio in a more compartmentalized fashion than the legacy reverse engineering of UAP program. It's like no one at the studio talks to eachother. So department A can have this idea that on it's own is cool but when they combine it with what department B cooked up - which on its own may have been cool too - it's simply not working. And then they're not properly testing the full product - or the testers are simply too afraid that men in black will show up if they share their honest opinions.
-
What planning ?
-
These changes we mostly all requested by the community and have been requested for years and we finally got them. People like the grind of destiny 2 so they gave people thing to grind for people like the grind so much they got rid of weapon crafting so you could grind more.
-
Yall are so sad. I heard of the changes and quit the second I heard what the changes would be months ago. Yall are just addicted. And sadly bungie knows and abuses that, rather than reward yall with a good game they drag yall through the mud. Just how it is bungie is choosing go just torture yall. Know when ti walk away in all facets of life. I wish destiny 2 could remain a good game. Bungie has other plans unfortunately.
-
You actually think theres a “Planning Process”? They dont even test 80% of what they put out!
-
It’s the fact that they KNOW Players will KEEP BUYING no matter the state of the game. They knew this crap wouldn’t be fun. Because there’s not much competition out there, they’ll continue to produce poor quality content with little to no effort of strong new content. Oh, and not to mention they pretty much fired everyone in the dang studio smh.
-
BungLe is only interested in one thing and ONE thing only....... $ That's it, no other interests what soever. Don't let them fool you if they try to claim otherwise... that's just gaslighting on a professional level.
