This isn’t working
Prolonged grind with lack of content
Rewards based on that grind and not skill
Pay to win limited time events that incite FOMO
Declining resources and declining playerbase leading to ‘whale farming’ rather than player retention.
Marathon is already done and this isn’t working for Destiny to be successful.

These mean nothing. We all know how delusional Bungie is. They'll probably insist on letting the current system ride until Renegades to see if we change how we feel. If it changes, which it won't, they'll keep it in place. If it doesn't change, which it will, then they'll get rid of it probably with the next major expansion. Either way, unless player decline drastically, nothing will change for at least six months I imagine.
